Mopity Mope

I have the mopes. AGAIN.

I blame the weather. And my period. Fuck you, PMS! *shake fist*

So far I'm doing well enough on my goals. I'm pretty happy with my progress so far. I'll make an official update tomorrow, when I have the time to draft a proper one during my lunch break (most blogging takes place at work on my breaks, since I'm a social recluse and eat lunch at my desk). It will contain some updated stats and also some movie reviews. (Maybe only one, depends on the weather tonight).

While I was watching the previews before The Spirit the other night, I almost forgot I was there to see a comic book (albeit an old comic book) movie, and not a horror flick. Sure, the Wolverine trailer played before it, but so did a bunch of previews for seemingly awful horror flicks, like the NEW Friday the 13th movie that looks fairly similar to the over the top Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, that was more gore than actual suspense as well as a preview for a movie called A Haunting in Connecticut which also looked like it was yelling 'HEY! I'm gross! Watch me!!' As opposed to 'Hey! I'll scare your pants off the way The Excorcist did (and still does, to an extent). The worst piece of garbage I saw though, was a preview for a movie about the year 2012 (you're all familiar with the different Doomsday theories, correct? If not, I'll fill you in.) called, cleverly 2012. It's being directed by Roland Emmerich, who brought us amazing pieces of cinema such as The Day After Tomorrow and Independence Day (seeing a pattern here?) and stars John Cusack, Amanda Peet (of Saving Silverman fame), Danny Glover, and Woody Harrelson (?!?). What the FUCK people? I don't know if any of you are spooked about the end of the Mayan Calendar, Planets Aligning, Poles Reversing (Ok, this one freaks me out) theories, but a lot of folks are and I have to say, this is not going to make things any better for them. Can we let the masses panic on their own, without egging them on? ugh.

Ehem. Anyway, review of The Spirit tomorrow along with a goals update. Maybe less mopes. We'll see.

mopes, movies, annoyance
