Joe, myself and our posse went to see the Dark Knight at Midnite last night. Luke got to the theatre first at 9:15 and was the 8th person in line. Joe and I showed up at 9:30 and the line was EASILY 150 people long. We're filthy line cutters though, so that didn't effect us.
They let us into the theatre around 10 and we sat there until 12:45 am. Midnite showing my ass! People just kept pouring in and pouring in. Seriously, who shows up for the midnite showing of The Dark Knight at 12:30?? Ass-hats, that's who.
I'm happy to report that the 'slow clap' worked not once, but twice while we were waiting for the movie to start! Bob and Joe started it the first time and I started it the second. It gives you such a sense of accomplishment when the slow clap actually gets the whole theatre going. :D I thought it only worked in movies!
So.. the movie. It was Fucking INCREDIBLE. It was by far the BEST movie I have seen this year, last year and quite possibly the year before that. Heath Ledger needs to come back from the grave to accept the oscar he desperately deserves for portraying a spot on sociopathic Joker. Who I subsequently fell in love with. Harley Quinn much?
It was well worth getting to bed at 4am this morning for. I am spellbound and thoroughly depressed that only person I can now ever see as the Joker is gone. I had my doubts when they announced who would be stepping into the role, but I was so wrong to think it was a bad choice.
Batman has always been my hero of choice and the Joker my villian. I'm such an ecstatic fan girl about this movie that not only did I see it 14 hours ago, I will be getting up at 5am tomorrow to go see it in Imax.
Yea, I have a sickness.
