Sometimes, I share the things I work on

Jun 27, 2008 11:25

I've been working a bit on an altered book journal. What that means in the simplest form is I took an old book that someone was going to chuck out and am revamping it using paints, markers, collage, pencils and my brain. The reason I call it a journal is because it reflects things I feel, random thoughts that pop into my head, new techniques I am trying out, things I learn... anything really. I figured I'd share my work, and a few links to some ladies who have inspired me.

I'm really enjoying this whole deal because a) it's super therapeutic and b) it's helping me kick the shit out of the creative burnout I've been suffering from for a while. It's like journalling is helping me re-grow a little piece of myself and I love it.

Anyway, here is the link to my set on Flickr. I'll be updating it as I update my journal. When I have a bunch of new stuff I'll update here, or, you can bookmark it and check it out regularly.

This is the first page I did. It's about sleeping. ^_^

We'll skip a few pages. This is one I did a little later based on a journal-along I joined. We were journalling about what the colours of the rainbow bring to mind for each of us. I also got more adventurous.

Based on the lonely life of a queen.

There are quite a few more to check out on the set. :)

As for inspiration links,

Check out stuff by:

Phizzychick who is a Craftster member I really admire. :)

Teesha Moore who is probably the most amazing altered book artist ever. Check out her pages and check out zettiology (her own style!)

And lastly, you can check out the journal along I'm a member of here.
