Last Thursday we went to See Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. It was AWESOME! Harrison Ford can still kick some serious ass even at the ripe old age of 66. There were 15 minutes in there I could have done without (fuck you and your unhealthy obsessions Steven Spielberg... and you too George Lucas!) but overall it was Indy hamming it up and kicking some KGB ass.
I loved the colouring of the movie. It was pretty reminiscent of
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow which was a movie a lot of people disliked, but I enjoyed. That whole overly filtered 1950's film noire really does ir for me.
Friday my boss sent everyone home at noon and paid us for a full day since a) it was the first nice day all week and b) it was the start of Memorial Day weekend. I went and visited Sherry, bought a birthday gift for Colleen, and went home to make sausage and potatoes for dinner. Mmmm.
Went to Hoboken on Saturday to hang out with John and Colleen and celebrate Col's birthday. They just bought a loft in Hoboken for the sum of $300k, and while nice, it's way smaller than my apartment. It's all about location in Jersey really. We went out to Maxwell's with a bunch of their friends for dinner. Even Rusty showed up. When we got home we did some apartment tidying and played WoW until 2 am. We don't do this very often at all FYI. I think the last time I stayed online past midnight was almost a year ago. I love sleep. I dinged 52. Go me!
The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing. We played mini golf and I got a wicked sunburn. I literally am ferrari red. It hurts! Joe won the first round by 3 and I won the second by 2. Woo! I've never beat him at mini golf before! We started to work on refinishing our kitchen chairs which are like;y from the 60's. The seats are threadbare and uncomfy, so I'm reupholstoring (however it's spelled) them, as well as refinishing them. Note to self: Paint stripper burns like the sun!
Yesterday I made some yummy ribs and put the in the slow cooker to stew, and we went to the flea market in Marshall's Creek, PA and hit up the awesome candy store down the road. We commandered 3 pounds (that's 1.3607 kilos) of gummy candy, 12 strands of beads (for jewelry makin'), the LITTLE SHOP OF HORROR SOUNDTRACK ON VINYL OMGWTFBBQ!, and some kitchen utensils. Good finds. When we got home he played some Mass Effect (seems like the most boring game ever....) and I made myself a snazzy new vintage glass and turquoise bracelet. The ribs were fricken delicious (I'm so modest) and we watched the Golden Compass. Which was entirely ok. Not great, not bad, but ok.
Currently I'm back at work and that large coffee hasn't done jack for me so far.
