Allen sighed as he parted ways with Kanda, after another fight. It was always like this, no matter how much Allen wanted to actually have a civil conversation, Kanda would manage to make him mad.
“I guess it’s useless…” Allen muttered. “It’s impossible to think he’ll even love me anyway.”
He had recently been aware of his own feelings towards a certain raven haired exorcist, but he just had to be so dense and anti-social.
“Forget it!” Allen said, clapping his hands together. Making his decision, he turned and ran back, towards Kanda’s direction. He was determined to get Kanda to love him, today.
“Kanda!” Allen shouted, spotting him. The Japanese youth turned.
“What the fuck? Bean-”
Allen didn’t let him finish, running towards him, he threw his hands around Kanda’s neck, slamming his lips on his in a not very gentle kiss.
“Please fall in love with me.” Allen whispered after they parted, and he closed his eyes, expecting a rejection.
“Che. Stupid beansprout.” Kanda said, and he closed the distance between them again. “I’ve fallen a long time ago.”

“I don’t need it.” Kanda said, turning away.
Allen stared at his retreating back, frowning. “Everyone needs it Kanda, whether it’s love from family, friends, or lovers…”
“I don’t.” Kanda replied, still walking, he would not turn back to face Allen, not when he knew Allen was right.
“Even so, I’ll wait for you.” Allen whispered as Kanda went further down the dark corridor. “I’ll keep loving you, even if you don’t.”

“What’s wrong with you?” Kanda snapped, looking at the white haired boy who was curled up on the bed with the blanket around him. Allen glared at him from under the blanket, refusing to meet his eyes.
“Go away…” Allen muttered. “Nothing matters anymore…everyone…Linali, Lavi…Crowley, Miranda …it happened so fast…”
“This is war, idiot.” Kanda growled. “Deaths are to be expected!”
It hurt, the truth hurt.
“That’s why all we can do is to keep walking forward, with our own two feet.” When there was no response, Kanda snapped again.
“God damn! You think you’re the only one who worries and wonder? What will happen when the war is over? Will there be anyone left!”
Kanda took big strides to Allen’s side, where the boy had been shocked at Kanda’s outburst. Kanda grabbed the boy and pulled him to his chest.
“Don’t stand still, keep walking. And one day, this never ending dream will end.” Kanda whispered, his hands were shaking, Allen noted.
In the end, Allen let his tears slide down his cheeks and nodded.
“Okay…”

4. Regret - Mai Hoshimura
Seeing Lavi’s arm around Allen’s shoulder made his heart hurt, but he swallowed the pain and continued eating, ignoring the happy laughter that came from the couple.
Kanda had rejected Allen’s confession, and Lavi had been the one to pick the poor boy up.
After a few more minutes of happy laughter and flirting, Kanda slammed his chopsticks down on the table, mumbling something before getting up and out of the cafeteria. Allen watched as the Japanese youth left, smiling sadly.
“I hope the day when you regret this will come.” Allen whispered as Kanda turned his back on him.
“And even though I hate this twisted heart of mine for thinking that way, I’ll still wish on it.”
I regret it now, every second of it. I’m sorry, Allen.

Allen lay on the hospital bed, unmoving, just like a doll.
The war was over, and the price they paid, was Allen.
He wasn’t dead, just in a coma. But that was already bad. Linali cried almost everyday, Lavi engrossed himself in his logs and books, while Kanda…he stayed by the young boy’s side.
Day after day, the boy remained motionless. Kanda wonders if Allen dreams in his coma. Brushing away his bangs gently, Kanda closed his eyes and sighed.
“…What kind of dreams do you see?” he whispered to the empty room. “Why won’t you answer?”

Kanda’s eyes snapped open, glaring at the figure sleeping in bed beside him. “What the fuck did you say?” he asked, his tone threatening.
“Pretty?” Allen repeated, smiling innocently. “It’s true, you have pretty features, though I wouldn’t say it’ll pass off for a girl cause your too muscular to be mistaken to be a girl…”
“Shut up beansprout.” Kanda muttered. “Least you won’t say you fell for my looks then.”
Allen laughed as Kanda pulled him closer. “I didn’t. It was your stubborn attitude.”
Kanda smirked.

Allen stood in the middle of the dusty room, looking around.
“I’m all alone now.” He said, sitting down.
Everyone had left, and the old tower was empty.
“What will I do now?” Allen whispered, hugging himself and closing his eyes. “Mana…I’ve walked forward all the while, and now I’m alone in this world.”
“Idiot.”
“I’m even hallucinating.” Allen chuckled bitterly.
“Beansprout!”
“That’s Kanda’s voice…I swore he left a week ago…” Allen muttered, his eyes still closed.
It wasn’t until something collided with his head did he open his eyes. “Wha-”
Kanda stood behind him, Mugen in hand. “Stupid beansprout, let’s go.” He turned and walked out, stopping at the door when he sensed Allen did not follow. “What are you waiting for?” he snapped.
“Wha…Kanda?” Allen blinked.
“You’d rather stay here alone?” Kanda asked, raising an eyebrow. “It was boring being alone out there…” he muttered.
Allen smiled. He wasn’t alone after all.

The darkness, that was all he had always seen in his dreams. He would walk and walk and walk, but there would never be an exit. He would always look around sadly, smiling a bitter smile.
“The darkness will be my end, and there will never be light for me.” Allen muttered sadly.
“Idiot, the light will be there if you look for it.”
The voice was familiar, and Allen’s eyes widened when a flicker of light appeared with a figure standing there.
His eyes snapped open, and he sat up slowly, not wanting to wake his companion. Blinking away his sleepiness, he looked over at Kanda, who seemed to have not been bothered by Allen shifting. Allen smiled and lay down again, wrapping his arms around Kanda’s waist.
“Che…go to sleep…” Kanda muttered, doing the same.
“Mmhmm…” Allen said, closing his eyes. Kanda would always be his light in his dreams.
