Man, I really suck at this posting daily thing.
So, okay. On the package front, I've received a nice Christmas card from Silke and her family, and a gift from my aunt Clara that my wife sent for her.
The biggest deal was my Christmas package from my wife and mom. There was a big ol' tin full of a type of cookie that I know as "wagonwheels". They're a chocolate cookie, rolled in powdered sugar before they're cooked. Normally, they spread out really flat, and have little white spots on them where the powdered sugar broke apart when they spread out. They are SO good. I normally don't like chocolate baked goods, but these things are amazing. The batch sent to me wasn't quite so good, because they'd dried and gotten a bit stale on the trip. Next time they said they'll make sure to seal them up so they don't dry out. I'm salivating just thinking about it.
The other big thing in that package was Fallout 3. I was serious excited. I installed it and was patient enough to wait until my wife went to bed before playing it. I didn't get much sleep for the first two days I had it. However, the computer I've got matches every requirement but one: the graphics card isn't up to snuff. I need to get a better graphics card, because the game seriously runs like ass. I was able to have fun with it for two days, but the slow response time, choppy graphics and occasionally problematic glitches got to be too much. Once I get a good graphics card, I'll probably be back into it for days.
Since then, things have been fairly quiet. I finished the first version of the rules of Sexy Deadly, and the development team has managed two playtest sessions. Theirs went well, mine not so well. We're moving along steadily from there.
We've had a few more not so good things happen lately. One of which was stupid privates being irresponsible. Nothing bad came of it, but whenever shit like this happens, the army gets even stupider for a time. Luckily i won't have too great an effect on me, as most of the dumb happens during the day.
I've gotten all my Christmas shopping done, finally. Almost all of it came from Amazon. It's okay though, 'cause I got decent prices for what I bought, and it should all arrive by Christmas Eve', even the stuff I bought today.
