Despite
dharleenk's regretful absence, I had a wonderful time today at the wedding of my friends Emily and Alex. It was a beautiful wedding, a beautiful ceremony on a gorgeous day uniting two amazing people.
Funny story:
ilp gave me Aesop Rock's album Labor Days last weekend, and I only got a chance to listen to it for the first time on the way down to the wedding. It is really an amazing album, far better than Bazooka Tooth. Anyway, he was also correct in stating that "Daylight" is an incredibly dope track. But while I was down at the wedding, I met a (pop) music critic based out of New York City. We basically spent the whole wedding talking music, and I mentioned I was listening to this album. His response: "Oh yeah, I used to skateboard with Aesop Rock. It's really weird now that he's a pretty big thing in hip-hop, to hear other people talk about his music."
Word! I leave you with the following.
"Life's not a bitch: life is a beautiful woman.
You just call her a bitch because she won't let you get that pussy.
Maybe she didn't feel y'all shared any similar interests,
or maybe you're just an asshole who couldn't sweet-talk the princess."
