I've been very stressed the last month+ at work as things have been very busy and IT has been asked to do more and more (for those of you that don't know, I'm the head of IT). I've had to cancel or work through vacation time but have successfully completed a PCI-DSS audit, implementation of a wireless mesh network at Legacy Place, two large (and revenue generating) projects for our Lifestyle Center department, staff reviews and a three-year IT strategy/capital plan with the CEO.
My yearly review was delayed a few days but was finally emailed to me this morning while I was in a Citrix user group meeting in Bedford.
Grape Google QuickDocs in the mouth.
There are three ratings in each section of my review: Needs Improvement, Meets Expectations, or Exceeds Expectations.
The review came up on my phone with every rating one column farther over the left.
I nearly had a heart attack.
It wasn't until I got into work later in the day and opened the review up in Word that I could fully breathe again.
Since then a Sr. VP. sent out a company-wide email thanking me specifically for my efforts on one large (and revenue generating) project, the Company has agreed to pay for me to attend a graduate certificate program at BU (or another local college if I can find a better program)and an IT vendor offered me luxury box Celtics tickets for early December.
I'm feeling a little better now...
