Being your own action hero

Something came to me the other day, as my mind has been firmly distracted by politics for a short while.  Sexism in the eyes of many is not unfounded because of the naturally occuring phenomena of female existance such as giving birth... etc.  My grandfather actually commented on it in a rather logical way.  "If you invest in a college degree for your daughter and she earns the degree but gets pregnant and doesn't enter the work force, then you wasted your money."   In the eyes of some that is an honest truth, but what do we really owe the work force.

My grandfather will also be noted for saying that "You young folks are getting smarter and asking questions that they don't want you to ask."  I believe he is right as well.  Many of us new generation scholars are not just learning how to be good at a particular field but we are learning how to learn and more so to apply our learning.  College teaches a universe of theories and is a host to a plethora of ideologies and ways of living your life.   WHat do we owe the work force, and who do we really owe a damn thing to?  It occured to me that by the time I get out of school and start work, social security may not exist and the rights of the worker are gonna be shit.  So my thinking has lead me to the fact that most likely my history bachelor and my other degree in either physical training or business will be all about teaching me to be the perfect anarchist.  I figure the only way to die happy is to change all that is wrong in the world and live as though you could never die.  Be the center of your own globe and never sweat money or power.  To be truly liberated is to not have to have money or power to get things where they should be in this world.

Perhaps I will get to have that one great conflict, and one great enlightenment.  The moment of realizing I am not wrong and that I am not a fool with an ignorant dream.  To topple greed and oppression, and put to the bladed edge all those who profitied from the poor and middle classes needs and weaknesses.  Capitalism will be returned to the peoples hands and made into the strong and powerful culture and nationality that is once used to be.  No more unreasonable gas prices, no more psychological conditioning, no more undeserved poverty and no longer will the few be masters of the many.  The many will be the master of many and we as a united people will have the power of senate and presidential selection.  We will decide for ourselves what is to be worth our hard time and money.

I would guess that I am just a sad rambling teenager who is scared to admit that one day he's going to have to stop trying to live in the impossible and swallow the spoonful of reality flavored robbisuin.  Fact is, if I don't make the world right, then what do a make right, and where do I turn when I am crestfallen at the discovery that all I have worked for and cared for is nothing at all.  If I cannot live the dreams I feel are my own then I would rather die with my hands trapped firmly to my weapon of choice and die the hero I feel I might one day have been and with blood rasping up in my final breath speak my last words of truth.  It would seem that I would die as Socrates, but not so admirably and much like Christ but not near as selfless and passively.
