There have been no advances in gum technology since the 1960s

I wholeheartedly believe that gum does not get any better than the Original Trident, Original Flavor.  Or as I call it, Trident Blue.

I've been chewing Orbit recently. Orbit has it's crazy flavors; they've even introduced a Mojito flavored gum.  I say, let 'em have their wacky flavors. Nothing they will make can ever be better than Trident Blue.  I returned to Trident Blue today and it almost brought a tear to my eye.  I felt guilty for having left TB to whore around with the other trendy, celebrity gums.

Perhaps part of my passion is due to Trident Blue being the brand of gum I was raised on.  My grandmother always had (and still has) it on her candy shelf.   I found that I was even slightly upset when Trident changed the packaging design and logo for their original gums (this, however, is not limited to Trident; I often have a hard time dealing with packaging design and logo changes).  I must applaud the designers, as the new flip top packaging is great at preventing the entire pack of gum from dumping out in your purse and then you get those lone pieces covered in lint and dirt, and you want to chew it because it's a hidden treasure, but you can't get the lint off.

I find that Orbit, Eclipse and your other fly-by-night gum brands lose their flavor and elasticity quite quickly.  Trident Blue stays minty fresh and chewy enough for me to annoy the shit out of my office mate by snapping bubbles for hours on end.

I'm chewing TB right now and probably will continue to chew it for the next few hours, or at least until I go to sleep.  If this were Orbit, I'd be throwing that shit away in 10 minutes.

Thank you, Trident Blue.
