Thanks very much! Just a crazy idea I had a while back that turned out all right.

Aren't those often the most fun to write?

I started a poem about, well, words and phonemes and such. Next hurdle is hashing out some scanning issues.

By the way, big guy, how are the eschatological scenarios up in Asheville?

Yeah, the brain-freaks are definitely the most fun projects to chase.

Well, we finally have gas up here again, but the havoc that the shortage wreaked on a number of our local, little indie operations will be with us for a while.

Food prices are up, energy prices, . . .

Same song you're hearing down there, I'll bet.

Although gas prices have been in a steady tumble, the food prices aren't. And rifle season started today, but the weather's terrible--a cold front is moving through, so the deer will have gone to ground. I'm seriously thinking of taking up the longarm and supplementing our inflow of meat with venison this year. Then turkey in March. We've got a slaughterhouse five minutes down the road; they and a place in Screven process deer meat. Can you say "grilled deer sausage"?

You bet your sweet ass I can!

Venison sausage is almost as good as venison chili.
