my god darin, i think i agree with you. amendment banning flag burning goes against freedom of speech and once our freedom of speech is taken away, we start to look a lot like that country we "fought" against in the cold war. although i do believe it is horribly disrespectful and anyone who burns the american flag can take their ideas to another country because why live here if you are upset enough with the country that you will destroy its emblem, it is a right that we have as citizens that should not be taken away.

what i dont get is how you guys can say your against it and then say things like move to another country if youre going to do it if you feel that strongly about it then you pretty much sound like youre for it i dont think it should be passed because burning the flag doesnt mean that much to me its not hurting anyone or anything its just not that big of a deal compared to some other things

What are these "things?" How about being a bit more specific. Because if you mean murder, that has NOTHING to do whatsoever with flag-burning, and doesn't belong in the same argument. If it were things like protests and sit ins, it would make sense.

You could've have at least left your name to make an attempt to make yourself sound intelligent.

i do not like the idea of flag burning and that is what i was expressing. however, i do not think their right should be taken away.
