funny, cause we just had a guy from DATA (Debt, Aids, Trade, Africa) come in and talk to our social justice class last week about the aids problems in africa. he said that it really wasn't a lot of money to get them the treatment they needed, and the world could really contribute more to this than they do. the aids situation shouldn't be as bad as it is in africa, but it is. and still the majority of people won't do anything to help it, cause it doesn't affect us here like it does to them. if people cared a little bit more about things that don't affect them directly, then this sort of thing could at least be curbed a little. it just bugs me how some don't even think twice about it and just brush it off as if it's nothing. the speaker said that aids like a holocaust in africa because of all the people affected and dying from it. he also said, "people watching the people in africa die from aids is like people watching the jews board the trains to concentration camps during the holocaust." that quote really seemed to affect me, because it makes everyone the bad guy, for knowing and seeing what's going on and having the power to do something about it, yet still they do nothing. it's horrible.
anyway, to sum up what i am trying to say here, i agree with everything you just said. and i can understand where you are coming from. this is my favorite entry of yours so far, bud. keep 'em coming and hang in there, because you have a lot of people that love you and hate to see you sad.
