Took Iliyah and N.T. to doctor this a.m. Took to one in Wasilla that was recommended and by funny coincidence is located right next to (and I mean, doors are adjacent) my neurologist's office. So while leaving I stopped there and paid the $5 balance on my account there (thank you insurance).
Doctor was awesome with the kids. Didn't give me any medicine for them, since apparently no infection. I think Iliyah had ear problem this weekend, but must be getting better. Supposed to keep up with Tylenol and typical cold relief activities.
Girls went in to town to see play "From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler" with mom. She actually enjoyed it. I'm not surprised, the performance series has been really good this year. My printer is dead and mom's we couldn't find cartridges for anywhere, and since I'm so DESPERATELY NEEDY for the printer at this point in my goal activities mom was really generous and bought a new all-in-one at OfficeMax in town for $89. Seems like a nice one. Going to try it in a minute.
Still waiting for my requisition orders from the school from 2 months ago. Anchorage School District has decided to tie the hands of our school office in ordering procedures and take over ordering. So it takes 2-3 months to get what we want, instead of 2-3 weeks. Easy way around this is to just order, pay myself, and get reimbursed. Unfortunately, no single order will be reimbursed if it is over $150 total. SO, any major science I might want has to wait. Also, some wholesale sites only give you the good price if you order a minimum of $150. Not a problem, I would, but can't get reimbursed. Again, must go through ASD Nazis to get supplies and by time they are here, is END OF YEAR!!!
Personally, I think that the Anchorage School District is upset because homeschool and charter schools are doing so much better than their precious public, teacher-controlled, ineffective ones. We have active parents, staff, and businesses that are dedicated to our children's education and are succeeding. ASD doesn't like that. Especially since we do so much more with so much less money than they get (they get state and city funding, we only get state funding and what we raise in fund-raisers, which is less than half as much for one of ours as for one of their students) and do a BETTER JOB than the "certified" teachers. There are some very good certified teachers, but there are alot more average to not-so-good ones.
Enough of my ASD rant. Now you know how I feel about that!
Tired from being up with sick baby last three nights, but feeling good anyway.
Tonight is my first night solo on the injection. Wish me luck!
