My trip upstate this weekend proved to my hermit-ed self that autumn was coming in fullswing. The leaves were changing, the wind was abundant and cool, and the undeniable scent of autumn's air was all there. (There really is a change in the scent of the air you know... I'm not crazy -_- )
Lately, most of my time has either been huddled up in the "no windows" computer lab or in my room after dinner trying to accomplish various things. Last week put a hamper on things since father came all the way East to visit my sister Jen for her birthday. On the weekend we spent some time in Sleepy Hollow, it being near his hotel. (Yes, it is THAT Sleepy Hollow, and no, there were no flaming pumpkins or horsemen sans heads) Weirdly enough, in keeping with my dad's strange tastes, he decides to spend our reunion time together by exploring the Sleepy Hollow graveyard (yes, also the one mentioned in the legend, complete with church) and Washington Irving's home. Granted, the day we did this had a perfect setting - gray skies, colored leaves, and a wispy wind. But, even then, though I respect his interests - this was the first time we've all been together in a long time @_@ You'd think he'd of chosen something else. Ah well...
On Tuesday we had Jen's b-day dinner spent out. Lisa got a lil too buzzed from the wine, but all was good - we spent the evening at Ruth's Chris.... a very expensive steakhouse. *I* had lobster.... *_*
After he went home, the next day I would of had anytime to myself was Friday - but I had promised Rob some help in WoW, so I got screwed into a night of fiascos. The first couple hours were spent trying (with Blair and some others) to help Rob through a stage... because of how long it took I was unable to log before getting suckered into running another instance with the guild. Here's where it gets fun - Rob realizes that now he'll need a ride home so he calls some of his other friends to arrange a pickup. They call me to let me know they're on their way while I'm still logged in, trying to play. Now, this rather large crew of people come in and invade my room. When I say invade, I literally mean invade. Some of them were moving around objects, pretending to 'steal' items to annoy me, or going through shelves of things with no tact. The first time someone took one of my posters off the wall and caused my entire house's network to be reset... was 'ok'. But after me re-hanging it while my guild ingame was wondering where the hell I was... they do it AGAIN? I was not amused. And they just kept up with this &%$%#$@ for awhile till it was remarked that one of them had to get to bed soon and that Rob wouldn't be able to sleep at their place. At this point my brain is processing this info... "They come here, lay waste to my room, and do nothing but piss me and my o.c.d.-ness off,... and now they're not even driving Rob home?" Yeah, I was angry. Rob apologized for a good long while... but bleh. I had to drive Rob home at 9am the next morning, since I had to go upstate - so the lack of sleep caused me to get sick, again - woo hoo ::sigh::
I'm feeling slightly better after two nights in a row of 8+ hours of sleep and got almost everything in my list done - but there's so much to do @_@ But that's for another time... back to work I go
