An Update? ZOMG!

::smacks himself in the forehead for using the term, eventhough it was to illustrate a point::

Boring class time needs filler, so I've resorted to reading more websites and forums (when my teacher doesn't have remote control of monitor and such) I've never really been a fan of forums online - especially in the gaming community. Sure, the premise is nice - and the ability of a bulletin board of updated thoughts and ideas is one that was not easily possible a decade ago. Yet, for all the wonderous uses we could be using it for - all I see are piles and piles (if one could imagine 1000s of posts as pages in a text, record) of argumentation and bad grammar/spelling. Now, before I potentially get "flamed" (I think that's the appropriate term) for saying most of the language along the lines of "1337" and ZOMGWTF is completely base and idiotic, let it be known I don't mind all of it. I can understand the need for groups of people to have their own unique thing - anime people with their ^^ smilies, the internet literates with their lol, lmao shortcuts, and other such things. But in the world of forums, the lines I've read perplex me. How the hell did you get through highschool? "ZOMG! That's the roxxorz! Wildheart is the sux - WTFBBQ?! N00b" Reading that is worse than listening to my sister say the word like every 2 phrases while trying to explain an idea. First off, why the Z? What's the point? And for the rest - why intentionally make your grammar suck? And BBQ? Why in the lord's name would you need to add that after WTF? If you're using the forum to express an idea, or a valid point - this system of typing seriously doesn't work. Best part is, half the time people are only continuing its use because of the "Geeky-online" coolness factor. Once again, I re-iterate - I normally don't mind some of the jargon, but repeated terrible phrasing all over the place over and over again while trying to present a point is immature and stupid. ::pushes up his glasses:: But then again, the forums in general seem to be riddled with the base and immature. However, that leads me into an argument with the gaming communities - and I'd rather continue onto the rest of a normal update before work....

So to begin, I got my job ^_^ Granted, at the moment it's only 2 nights a week, but it's two nights a week of easy money. Not to mention it works for resume material. Tonight's my first night, so I have to get the feel for it. Other than that I've been trying to finish my current trilogy by Raymond E. Feist (my favorite fantasy author still at the time of this typing) and trying to play both WoW and FF when given a chance. No, I haven't given up FF yet... I need to put my foot down (or just leave without telling anyone) I have a knack of being able to vanish without anyone noticing... and then they forget all about lil ol' me. Not that I'd say it's a positive talent... it can end up making you very lonely... anyway let's move on.

My webpage I'm designing for class is about half done. It's rather hard to complete when I have to wait for the teacher to teach certain topics, but soon I'll be working on the art needed. My other coding classes are getting more difficult, but thankfully I haven't confused them just yet. We had a cool, refreshing snow storm over the weekend - it alleviated a lot of pent up bitterness as I watched the storm play out... until I realized I'd have to shovel myself out the next morning. I've also re-discovered my love of the band Nightwish. It's my current "Driving to school" music. It makes me want to start writing again... did I forget anything? Hmm... ah yes. To Laura, we should chat on the open-mindedness sometime, and Alaea - im me sometime about the games if you wish. To everyone else, I hope all is going well. ~Ttfn
