GUESS WHAT!?!?!!
Apparently, the people who owned the house my mother, sister, and I were renting hadn't been paying their morgage!!
So, on Wednesday, my family got our first Eviction notice Ever.... for 24 hours. "What?" I hear you say. "Certainly not a 24 hour notice to vacate the premessis!" Yup. I'll tell ya, nothing gets you going from zero to FAST in 60 seconds like that little piee of paper... so we started packing. And kept packing... and kept packing...
Bright and early Thursday morning, three large, strapping Bosnian men came compliments of some moving company or another and they helped us load everything big, heavy, and (thus) imporant into a moving truck. They then moved it to the garage of the house in Arlingtom my mother has decided she is buying. Horray mom and her uncanny knack for buying something ridiculous a week before we actually need it. :-D Meanwhile, Jam, Kara and I continued packing everything for storage in a PODS. Thursday at 1:30 came and went, with no sherriff telling us to piss off. :-) We were so lucky!!! So friday we and the returned Bosnians loaded the PODS-shed thing, they left, we continued, and we broke for lunch shortly after noon. We're just finishing our pizza and getting back to work when we hear it.

Crap.
So the next 45 minutes consisted of us running around like mad stuffing anything last-minute, important, etc. from the rooms we hadn't finished yet into bags, boxes and crates. Finally, we were escorted into the road and told we could get anything else we had left when it was thrown to the curb... The sherriff was super nice about it, and told us that we'd been really nice and she hated to do this to us, blah blah blah. She'd been more than helpful, though - she let us go back in a couple of times for things we had missed, she didn't impound our storage unit (what was she gonna DO? Drag it?) and she stalled the banker guy (who was a dick) for, like, 45 minutes while we got last minute stuff.
So that's what I've been doing for the last three days. I was supposed to go to work, but considering the people I work for OWN the house we were just evicted from, they didn't tell us when they got the 30/90 days notice (because we sure as shit didn't get it), they have been taking out rent while APPARENTLY not paying the morgage, and these were supposed to be my last three days ANYWAY..... Well, I think they have a good idea as to where I am. And also, of where they can shove it.
We're staying with family friends until the deal on the house in Arlington goes through in anywhere from 7 to 30 days, then moving there. I may or may not take in "impromptu" trip down to Orlando or Tampa or Somewhere-That-Isn't-Here for the next few days.
OH! And I accidentally packed all my clothes into the moving truck/storage shed during the chaos. :-)
But y'know what? We got an extra 24 hours, everything important is safe, and I have Rosa happy and healthy. Also, Chelsey was in Tennasee, which was good because she didn't have to be here for the whole thing....
Honestly? Considering the circumstances, I don't think things could have gone better! And, well......... they could have been a lot worse. :-)
Tiredly,
-Me
P.S.
I find it amusing that I forgot and packed all my clothes, but I made SURE to put HOOD somewhere where I'd be able to get to it to read it...
