Alex's mum got me the Australian Women's Weekly Bake cookbook, which is both large and full of excellent recipes (I've always had large amounts of faith in the Women's Weekly recipes as they always seem to work out [even the time I made a sponge roll for the first time!], and also I've grown up with them). So I have been baking.
I took some Pumpkin and Fetta muffins to work the other day, where they disappeared gratifyingly promptly. I've made some Chocolate Lace Crisps to take to Christmas Eve dinner with family friends tonight and they are super tasty. Further baking adventures await!
So does housework.
I had breakfast with Mum yesterday and we happened to stop in at the Salvos, whereupon I found a stack of V. C. Andrews books which are now mine for 99c each. Champion! They're so ridiculous. If anyone is interested in seeing the most ridiculous family tree I promise you will ever see, Google "Dollanganger series family tree" and click the first link. Hilarious drama.
