Dear MCU-AU Fest writer,

Thank you for writing! I hope you have fun with this :)

Again, my ao3 name is storiesfortravellers.

I'm not picky, and I'm open-minded about fic, and so if you enjoy writing it, I'm sure I'll enjoy reading it. That said, since "I love everything" is not considered helpful, here are my dislikes and likes, and some ideas I am throwing out just in case they give you ideas of something you want to write. I like giving prompts, and so I just gave lots in the hopes that some might strike your fancy - feel free to use any or none, and obviously I'm not expecting all.

Stuff I like in fic (again, not requesting any one of these specifically, just talking about things that I often enjoy):

-fic about complex relationships
-character studies
-humorfic
-angst or angst with comfort
-Characters who know each other really well, including how the other characters think.
-Characters who are antagonists but who reach a mutual respect or care for each other. Similarly, characters who are in a close relationship but are willing to fight for what they believe in, even with the other person.
-Characters who are very principled or caring but also sometimes have to struggle with things - either morally gray plots, or the difficulties in building relationships, or getting over their repressed stuff, or living with compromises, or what have you.
-Characters who long for each other, especially if they get together in the end.
-Characters who trust each other even though they're not good at trusting.

And in terms of pairings:
-any rating is fine. Rated G is fine and NC17 is fine too.
-kink/bdsm or psychological explorations of kink/bdsm are great if you like writing that (but totally optional!). I'll be fine with anything except stuff with animals or kids or scat, but if you want specifics, I prefer most bdsm stuff (bondage, spanking, submission/obedience, roleplay, sensation play, etc.) but I don't prefer fisting or rimming or large objects (not squicked, just don't prefer).
-obviously any sexual content at all is completely optional - again only if you like writing it

Stuff I don't usually prefer to receive as the main focus of the fic:
-Character death (except for canon temporary not-actually-dead deaths like Bucky)
-Stories that focus a great deal on grief
-Serious illness or injury

And a little on the specific requests - these are totally just possibilities for prompts in case they help give you ideas -- feel free to do your own thing instead of course:

Pairing: Bucky/Clint/Natasha
AU - Ballet -- one of those ballet companies that are known for scandals, dirty politics, etc.
AU - Leverage Crew -- they don't like it when bad guys get away with things
AU - Hackers -- hackers who care about social justice
AU - X-Men Movies fusion -- they have feelings about their powers/having to hide their powers
AU - Steampunk -- them being badasses in the Victorian age. Plus, vests.
Canon AU - Role Reversal -- Bucky brought Clint and Natasha into SHIELD? Or some other role reversal is fine too.

Pairing: Peggy/Steve/Howard
Canon AU - Super Soldier Program Failed/Worked Differently -- just nothing where it makes Steve evil or changes his personality
Canon AU - Time Travel -- Steve in 2015 goes back to the time of Agent Carter and gets a few days to spend with them
AU - Steampunk -- an inventor, an adventurer, and a spy
Canon AU - Powers on Known Timer/Expiration -- Steve's powers go away
au - Celebrity -- Howard and Peggy are movie stars who don't much like each other, until they both take an interest in (pre-serum-ish) Steve, the indie screenwriter or art student

Pairing: Steve Rogers/Natasha Romanov/Sam Wilson
AU - X-Men fusion -- some of them are human, some mutant, but they learn to trust one another?
AU - Law Enforcement -- Steve can't let a case go ever, Natasha doesn't like to go by the book, and Sam spends a ton of time making the victims feel better? I'd like it if they were chasing dangerous bank robbers or something instead of gruesome serial killers since I don't like horror and gory details of bodies, etc.
au - library -- they are usually working for competing libraries to get the best cool stuff for their archives, but they have to work together to solve a mystery/protect something or someone/escape the bad guys who want the valuable manuscript/whatever other reason for them to join forces
AU - Noir -- anything is fine
AU - Scientists -- anything is fine

Again, thank you, and feel free to go where your ideas take you :)

-Daria

dear
