Move 45 is almost over! Tomorrow, actually, in between close to 12 hours worth of classes(first one begins at 9am and last one ends at 9:15pm with just a couple hours between each), we should have everything pretty much moved out of my apartment into the new. The lady from the leasing agency is actually going to come over to this complex to help me move my bed and the rocking chair, since I don't know anyone with a truck and those are the only things I can't get into my car. I just had a mental picture of being Granny Clampett with my rocking chair tied to the roof of my car. *laughs*
Anyway, the final straw came tonight, and if I wasn't already moving, I would be after this. We were in the bath and all of a sudden we hear "Get down on the ground. NOW!" from right outside my apartment door going down the hall. I immediately called 911, got dressed, and opened the door to find a group of women out there talking about what had just happened. Apparently 3 guys tried to rob the gas station in front of the complex and were chased through the complex by the cops. By the time we got out front, they had already caught two of them, were looking for the third, and trying to find the gun that was used during the robbery.
Yeah, I so love this complex. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On the other hand, I have a HUGE FREAKING kitchen in my new place - 28 cabinets and drawers total and some of the cabinets have multiple shelves inside. I have NEVER had a home or apartment with that much kitchen space! I seriously do not know what I'll do with all of it - even after getting all my kitchen stuff that has been in my parents' garage for over two years now!
I can't wait to have everything moved in and set up over there. And once I have a little time and money, you better believe that my balcony is going to be the perfect haven for me on rainy days! It's covered, so I'll stay dry, little bistro set out there, mosquito netting when it gets warm, plenty of plants and flowers... I'll have the perfect place to study, relax, read.. do whatever I want!
The only downside to this place is that the cable company quits servicing the area about a mile from the house. I called one of the satellite companies, and while getting satellite and a ton of channels is going to be a LOT cheaper than cable, trying to get internet might prove the opposite. I have to have a landline to get DSL out there, and the girl with the satellite co says it's actually bundled with a local provider and can cost anywhere from $14.95-89.00. Yeah, not so inexpensive. I'm going to have to figure something out though, because I kind of have to have access for my classes. ARGH.
Anyway, Chris is still here. YAY! He said that he was going to stay at least until I had finished moving, so now that that is almost done, I'm getting worried that he's going to be heading home any day now. He keeps saying that he won't be leaving until I make him a cake, so I guess that means if I NEVER make him a cake, he will NEVER leave, right? Maybe I have a way to keep him here with me after all.
All joking aside, it's going to tear me up like nothing else when the time comes for him to leave. I never would have imagined that it would or could be like this between us after everything that happened in the past, but it's absolutely amazing. We did have our first fight today.. just waiting for the "make up" you know what to happen, but I'm thinking we'll just wait to christen the new apartment. *laughs*
I guess I better get to bed. Tomorrow is a long freaking day just for classes, but add in moving during the off class hours and it's going to be even worse.
Have a good night everyone.
