Character: Peter Parker | The Amazing Spider-Man |
noyoumove Election Season: Unless things take a drastic turnaround in the next few days -- which is, I may add, entirely possible -- it looks like Pete'll be keeping his seat for the upcoming term, so that's exciting, if no less surprising than it was in May. I took Peter from a fairly unique point in his canon, however, wherein he was making political statements (shortly following his exit point, for example, he and Tony went to Washington together, where Peter effectively told off the U.S. Senate), so while I'm confident that it's following the development he would've gone through anyway, I can't quite shake the sheer weirdness that is Peter Parker having a modicum of respect from the community at large.
Tony: First things first,
scenes that will never happen on the Island! In all seriousness, though, the dynamic between Peter and Tony has, to an extent, improved since September, but given how much frustration Pete's stubbornly trying (and occasionally failing) to suppress, I'd hesitate to say they're on friendly terms. Even so, Tony effectively stopped him from doing something incredibly stupid this month, even if Pete's not entirely sold on the guy's reasoning for doing so.
Spider-Man: After having spent eight and a half months of the past year in some stage of recovery due to two separate incidents, Peter's once again back to having a clean bill of health. Somewhat unsurprisingly, he's starting to miss his powers more and more, and will probably spend the next little while pushing his physical limits and indulging in more reckless behaviour. As I've said to Scott probably ad nauseam at this point, Peter Parker might not be a violent man, but he's used to having the outlet of Spider-Man; whenever he got wound up, he'd pull on the tights, and go rant at random muggers about the ins-and-outs of his life while he kicked some ass. He has nothing comparable on the Island; while a sparring partner might help take some of the edge off, what he really needs is an opportunity to just let go, in a situation that wouldn't have consequences. He's amazingly aware of his reputation on the Island, and doesn't really want to compromise it, if only for Mary Jane's sake, and beating someone to a bloody pulp just wouldn't look good. That said, some day, I'd really, really like for him and Tony to engage in some old-fashioned fisticuffs.
Guy's Poker Night: In the absence of fisticuffs, though, I've been throwing around the idea of Pete hosting a poker night at his and MJ's newly renovated house over the holidays. In thinking up the guest list, though, I stumbled upon a slight problem; I know for sure he'd probably invite Wolverine and the Brothers Winchester (yay, for having met both of them!), but four people seems a bit small for a group. Furthermore, I'm not entirely sure how it would be threaded out. (My other idea was that he'd invite Bucky, too, since they technically know each other, and that Bucky'd extend the invitation to Jason because that combination of characters is hilarious to me, but then that'd be two characters for both SarahV and I.) Suggestions?
Science Projects: Peter made mention of starting a lecture series guided by members of Tabula Rasa's scientific community in his election speech, and he'll probably get that started in the new year, regardless of whether or not he's actually elected. Basically, I'd like to run it in the same vein as the theme nights at the CSC; once a month, there'd be a gathering post for all of the Island scientists (and any interested parties, really) to get together and hobnob and be, well, smart. Additionally, he's going to start work on an observatory once the snow melts, so expect more details on that in the coming months, as there'll be an OOC call for volunteers over in
slated once I've done a bit more research.
Thread Requests: Mary Jane (forever~), Tony, Pepper, FELICIA, Wolverine, Claire!, Sam, Dean, Fred... Um, everyone, really, because December is the month of NOTHING BAD WILL HAPPEN (unless he gets his AU teenage girl clone, but that'll be more weird than traumatic).
Character: Jamie Madrox | X-Factor |
howmanylives Layla: His relationship with Layla can, as of the Tabula Rasa Day party, be considered public knowledge, and I will edit his wiki shortly to reflect as much. Effectively, he's cut his ties with Theresa; her opinion is no longer a deciding factor in his actions, and though this was all said in a meme and not in-game, his stance on the Terry/Brad/Nate/Remy situation was effectively summed up
here. As far as couples go, Jamie and Layla are distinctly unusual in their dynamic, but given their respective backgrounds, I suppose that's to be expected. They're candid without necessarily being honest, but they do care deeply for one another in their way; at this point, he's fairly certain she's the only person who understands him to any degree.
The Mousetrap: I got a bit bogged down with threads this month, so I apologize for falling down on the tags from the gathering post. There'll be another one up in early December for a more traditional rehearsal, though I plan on posting a more coherent primer beforehand for all of the changes Jamie's made to the characters just so everyone is on the same page. After all, communication is key, especially in plots of this nature.
Timeloop and Item: Despite having Jamie for over a year, I've yet to give him any sort of item. In light of Moira's disappearance, I keep thinking that giving him a vial of the Legacy Virus -- which killed both him and Moira, once upon a time -- would be a really awful (read: awesome) thing to give him, but it's all a matter of timing, really. Other than that, I think Jamie's a character who really lends himself well to the idea of a timeloop plot, but it's just a matter of choosing which moment to relive over and over again. Food for thought, I suppose, though there's no immediate plans to give him either.
Thread Requests: Layla (forever~), RAHNE, Brodie, Rogue, Sawyer, other people involved in the play, potentially Brad (because I wouldn't mind what was said in the meme to be said in-game?), Grey's characters... Again, anyone, really.
Character: Bucky Barnes | Captain America |
onlyapassenger General: Still being so new, I don't have much to say in regards to Bucky at the moment; I'd very much like him to get involved in the Island community in some capacity, since he's undoubtedly one to make himself useful, but there isn't much need for someone of his particular skill set. The ITF or the hunting crew would both be a good fit, but I'm not entirely certain how one becomes a member of either; I should look into that. I think, eventually, he might do what I'd originally intended Heather to do last year, and build a boarding house of sorts for ex-superheroes, but that won't be for months yet.
Timeloop and Item: So, I have this really awesome, incredibly traumatic idea for a timeloop/item combo on Christmas Day that I'd love, love, love for Lucy and Jason to be involved in, but given that it will likely require the two of them to die at least a couple of times, I'm hesitant to say it'll actually go through.
New Year's Eve: Regardless of whether or not Christmas Trauma happens, I'd like to find someone for him to kiss on New Year's Eve; he misses Natasha something fierce, and there's no one on the Island who's really made him feel anything in his pants (generally speaking, he's shown a preference for older women in canon, ahem), but it's a tradition, and I'd like him to have someone to kiss on that night. (Note: ONLY WOMEN NEED APPLY.)
Thread Requests: Jason, Lucy, BRYCE, Natalya, Wolverine, everyone ever~.
In conclusion: there should be another Marvel gathering over the holidays at some point, I have absolutely no one queued, and dear God, I am verbose.
