WFMU
I thought I should do a post about my love for WFMU.
WMFU is the best radio station ever. I do like Resonance, but there's too much talking. WFMU is the most consistently original, changing, varied and funny channel ever. I don't know why there aren't more freeform stations in the world; but if there were this is a tough blueprint. I barely listen to actual CDs or records any more, I just whack it on and there's not too often I turn it off. Things I've heard in the last few weeks:

- Great live sessions with Dolly Parton and Colleen (not at the same time, alas)
- Some conspiricy theory nut rambling on in a monotone american drawl for an hour every week, THEN doing one episode TOTALLY TAKING THE PISS OUT OF HIMSELF. Seriously, it was brilliant.
- The morning (american time) show, with a lady with the loveliest voice ever talking over the top of all kinds of bird and animal noises, and playing stuff like japanther and obscure yo la tengo remixes and reading out enough gig listings to make we want to live in NYC.
- The great, great free jazz/electro acoustic programs, never boring
- On now: some weird, crazy hip hop megamix with all kinds of weird shit going on
