Sometimes, late at night, he thought about that day. It had depressed him then, still did, but the Many-Worlds theory buoyed him up. Somewhere, he knew, it had been “I love you,” instead of “so long.” Somewhere he had managed “I love you, too.” Sure, somewhere he had gone anyway. Somewhere it hadn’t worked, somewhere else, it had. In some places, the Wraith triumphed. Sometimes the self-destruct was enough; sometimes they made it to Earth. That all happened, because there were infinite universes. Still, he knew somewhere, John and he both lived, and lived together. That made Rodney smile.
