Darcy finally fell asleep, but it wasn't until Ford had come to bed. The night before had been brutal, trying to decipher what all this meant for Quinn. To know now that all her crazy behavior wasn't just the means of a troubled teen, but rather something bigger was both infuriating and a relief. That doesn't make her current situation any better either, but for now -- and this Darcy came to accept with quite a bit of reservation -- she was safe where she was.
Bringing her home, trying to solve it without any knowledge? Yeah, that wasn't going to go over well. Darcy wouldn't be able to handle it and it would drive a deeper wedge between her and Ford. They needed to be together on this if it was going to work. Ford was getting himself involved and that needed to be important to her, too, that he would do this. Whether he was really doing it for her or because he just wanted something to do? Well, that's different.
So, as the sun barely came up, she moved to nuzzle in against Ford, getting an arm around his waist and remaining close at least for a moment, trying to remember that her own brand of crazy wasn't going to help anyone and being bitter at the world for what it did to everyone? That did nothing for her, too.
"You awake, yet?" she asked quietly, pressing her lips to his shoulder.
