So say we all

I saw Battlestar Galactica: Razor tonight. On a big screen. It was kind of awesome. ( Obviously, SPOILERS for Razor! )

If I wake up in time, which I probably will. I'll call or text you to confirm, so if you don't hear from me, then maybe I managed to sleep through (I'm short on sleep). :)

It just now occurs to me that I have always looked at this icon of yours (pre me watching Heroes) and thought that "the person" in it had pigtails. Because the black streaks on either side of Hiro's head look sort of like pigtails. Now that I know who it is, I'm capable of seeing it entirely differently. :)

Did you see Heroes? It did a lot of serious explaining...

It also continued the streak of having gratuitous scenes of Peter with no shirt - though I suppose you care about that less than I do.

Where did you see it? I saw it with my brother down in SJ at Santana Row. It was awesome having it on a big screen in HD and everything, although I found it rather distracting that the *entire* soundtrack was late by about 150-200 msec or so, so none of the dialog quite matched people's lips. Not too much of a problem I guess as long as I didn't look to closely. I thought it was pretty awesome, for each of the several reasons you mention. Plus more Michelle Forbes in anything is always a a good thing! And I thought it was rather interesting that they managed to insert an entire major subplot, including a new awesome character who is introduced and then dies as well as the whole old-school cylon thing, into the middle of a plotline from a season ago - somehow they pulled that off without any awkwardness at all - Bravo!

I saw it in SF, at the 10pm showing. Some friends went at 7, but I had a rehearsal that went until 10, so I had crossed my fingers and gotten a ticket for the second showing (I mean, they were free, so what was I going to lose?), since the theater was pretty near where I have rehearsal. And then we got out of rehearsal early! And I spent ages driving around looking for parking, which was made harder by the fact that street cleaning started at 12:01am most places, and I wasn't quite sure how long the movie would actually be. But I finally found somewhere, and in fact, there wasn't a line, and the theater wasn't even full!

Our dialog matched fine, which was a good thing, because that sort of thing drives me absolutely batty. But I was way over to the side of the theater, which is something I never do if I can help it, and I got a little bit of a crick in my neck from watching the whole thing with my head tilted! :)

Finally saw it! shoutingboy November 26 2007, 09:26:41 UTC
Had an overdue dinner engagement on preview night, so I had to miss it. Just finished watching my TiVo present.

Misc. thoughts:

  • Nitpicky linkylink
  • Is this the first time we've seen a non-straight human in BSG? It wouldn't signify, except that I believe Star Trek managed to go through five series, 28 seasons, and a bunch of movies without definitively commiting to the existence of gays or bisexuals any time after the Eugenics Wars.
    • Though we're all pretty sure about Wesley.
  • Kara could lead humanity to its end, without disrupting the grand cycle--if Cylons, or Cylon/human hybrids, take the place of humanity, and establish the new civilization that will ultimately be destroyed by its creation. OTOH, perhaps the hybrid is seeing a fork--maybe by "Armageddon" it means an end to the cycles, i.e. Kara really is something new, and maybe this won't all happen again.
  • "By your command" GLEE!

Okay, bedtime now. Though I will say this has got me looking forward to season 4 after all. I hope the writer's strike doesn't screw things up.

I believe I heard that they're already done filming season 4, though I may be mistaken. What may screw it up is sci-fi apparently postponing it until... September?
