quick update before going home!

Just one more week before I'm on a plane headed back to the nw for a few weeks.
:). I'm excited and very anxious. Because I haven't been working full time for a year,
I'm a Mexican on welfare poor. But it should make things interesting. I want to get pebbles
and throw them at friend's houses yelling "STELLA!" Go to gasworks, pretend my baby sister
isn't really finishing high school. lol. Here in Taiwan, I recently became an official couple
with a guy I've been seeing for several weeks. His name is Amin, and he's from Jordan.
He's a student at the same language center as me. He will start studying civil engineering next year at a local university. He's pretty much super awesome sweetie. I wish he was coming back with me so you could meet him. Last weekend, I went to Gaoshiang (Gaostink!) for a friend's wedding- and suffered severe culture shock. They had karaoke at the dinner hall the entire ENTIRE time. Imagine your worst most cruel image of Asians singing old folk twanged out songs. Now imagine having to listen to different random guests go up to sing for your entertainment during the dinner reception. THE ENTIRE RECEPTION. Apparently they sometimes have show girls for entertainment. GROSS. I have no future as a diplomat. At all. Omg. Some of the dishes- HURL
sweet rice with bits of pork. EWWWWW.... Every other dish at the reception had shell fish or pork.
So I was really starving at the end. And I was in Gaoshiang 2 years ago, during my first year and got the nastiest headache just from walking around the city because of the heat, humidity and dirty air. And this time, well, basically I gave up after the headache medicine did nothing. After the reception we checked into a hotel, went and got starbucks (it was buy one get one free day!) and went back to the hotel to sleep. I could actually feel the headache getting worse. And I had taken 2 horse pills of aspirin. :(.... And Gaoshiang is the 2nd biggest city here, and I can never see any of it, because it makes me freaking sick!! And many people, love love love Gaoshiang. like oh it's so beautiful it has a river. Really? My parent's backyard has a pond cleaner than that river. OH I could go on. But who needs negativity?

I'll make a list of things I miss about the states before I leave Taiwan....and before I leave the states will make a list of things I miss about Taiwan.

Again, basically the only time to really see me will be that first weekend that I'm in the city. After that I'm my family's property. Namely since it's been 2 1/2 years since we've all been in the same spot. It will be good. ;)...And hopefully I don't get so fat this time!
HUGS HUGS KISSES KISSES!!!
