this is from a few days ago, but i'll post it anyway:

hello from beautiful slovenia. on tuesday evening, kev and i flew out of cincinnati airport to london. we got to fly first class, which was very fancy and made me kind of nervous. although i loved the reclining seat, i was kinda intimidated by the 14 buttons that i had to push simultaneously to get the seat just right. when we got to london the next morning, we hopped on the tube and checked into our hostel. we were exhausted from the flight, so we took a quick nap. after that we walked around the city and explored a lot. we quickly realized in all our excitement about our trip, we had forgotten to think about what we wanted to do while we were in london. luckily, i remembered how to get to some places, like trafalgar square, or as kevin would call it "the place with all the pigeons" that he remembered going to when he was little. it took us more than an hour to find a good place to eat dinner in london, because everything either seems super expensive, or it's a loud crowded bar. we finally ate, and then walked around a bit more before heading back to our hostel for the night. the next morning we woke up with plenty of time to eat the most expensive bagels of our lives (we paid 13 pounds for 2 bagels with cream cheese and 2 cups of coffee-- that's more than 26 dollars!!!) check out of the hostel and make it to the airport.  after a series of unfortunate events, including bad directions from someone at our hostel, a broken tube rail, and very slow security at the airport, we missed our flight to ljubljana.

so we ended up spending the next 26 hours at stansted airport. we had to get creative to keep from getting bored, which included playing Guess Who (but with real people, haha), discovering the wonders of sudoku, playing uno, watching a young traveller make a bold move on a cute girl at the next table, and then inviting her to sit at his table. one of my favorite things was walking around the airport in the middle of the night and seeing tons and tons of people sprawled out everywhere, trying to sleep. apparently, a lot of people who have early morning flights have to spend the night at the airport, because the first trains don't get in until 6 am. it was a crazy cool experience...

anyway, we finally got on the plane the next day, a pretty uneventful flight besides the guy decked out in full scuba gear, including flippers (i have pictures). got here friday night, rested, went out for drinks. yesterday we hung out in ljubljana all day, went to the market in the morning to get fresh veggies, fish, fruit, etc. last night we had a sushi party. lots of cool people and good food. sushi, calimari, salmon. it was a seafood extravaganza. today we went to see our cousin karmen and her family. they made a picnic for us. very fun.

okay andrew's whining about the computer. he probably wants to email a girl or something.

lep pozdrav!
