Now what
Back to work, back to school. The summer passed quickly and without too much fanfare. Went to Octoberfest, Dota 2 international, Ren fair. Landlord has piled stuff up on the side of the house we walk past every day to get to our door. I am not happy.
Looking forward and not seeing much in the bay area. Houses cost too much, rent is too high and the schools here are crummy, at least the public ones. Now what? Thinking of leaving scares me. This is my bubble, I have lived here my whole life. Maybe if we were planning to not have children none of this would matter so much, but I can't see a future without serious financial hardship if we stay and try to get our squids into private schools. The states with the best public school ratings are, well, not states I considered live-able due to them having real seasons and not many big cities. That being said... I don't think I have been to a big city for anything other then flights in awhile now. Same with the beach, I don't think I have gone in over six months. So it comes down to comfort and family, maybe just the number of generations that have stayed in this state.
