Time-Space Anomaly

So I'm currently reading Symphony of the Sword to my squirrel. I only started a couple of weeks ago, and so we're only just mostly through "Rose for the New Year". Ten minutes ago, I finished reading "Interlude at Vortigern's Lake No. 2". The stories are literally five years apart in the time line, and the later refers to the earlier one more than once. That's in large part because it's about all the changes interpersonal relationships have undergone in that time.

And, I dunno, I'm kinda feeling weird because the contrasts are so strong. It makes my brain go wub-wub-wub. Either that, or it's just the hour. Who knows. "Interlude" closes a plot arc that started out as comic relief in a serious way; z-gryphon mentioned a post in the EPU forums that felt the sense of closure was too strong. I disagree, but I sympathize.

This is turning into a ramble -- better cut it short.
