Hot Chips

So tonight Abby, Rachel, and I decided that we were going to make a fabulous healthy dinner. We picked out 3 recipes from Abby's weight watchers cook book. Nachos, Lemon-Garlic Chicken, and Ginger Almond cookies. Sounds delightful. So we are in the process of making the nachos, everything is cut up, we bought all fresh foods and soft tortillas and it tells you how to make them cruncy and soooo yummy. So we are cooking and Abby flips the tortillas and sticks them back in the oven. Well a minute later (probably not even seen as how we set the timer for 1 minute 30 seconds and it had not gone off yet) we see smoke coming from the heat vent on the stove. Well we were disappointed that our chips were burning so we went to take them out and....
AS SOON AS WE OPENED THE OVEN DOOR THE OVEN WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES!!!!!

So we slammed the door shut and it seemed like an enternity that we just stood there staring, though it was probably just a second or two. So I grabbed the fire extinguisher and pulled the pin gave it to Rachel, Abby opened the door again, and Rachel could not figure out how to make it spray. Abby slammed the door shut again just as Rachel figured out how to make it spray and Abby opened the door with the flames shooting out and Rachel put out the fire. So much for dinner, everything was ruined. Sigh.

If you have never had to clean that stuff up before I hope you never do, it is all over litterally everything in the apartment, I had to use a vaccume cleaner hose inside the oven and on the floors. I have mopped twice already and it has not all come off the floor yet. It worked its way into all the cupboards and all over every dish, pot, pan, plate, siverware, glass, you name it, just awful. We ended up ordering pizza, I was an hour late to work. I am exhausted. I have a head ache. And I do not want to go back to the apartment tomorrow. The smoke was terrible and everything is cover in dust and smell of smoke, it is going to take me forever. I appreciate Abby and Rachel's help cleaning before they left. Sucks big time.
