The killings of a clown.

I've now seen a picture of The Joker from the new Batman movie. I'm not impressed. It looks like they're making him just another psychopath in makeup, as he's not really that bleached, and his hands are flesh colored.

To be honest, The Joker would be a tough one to do in live action anyway. Out of all the Jokers that I've seen (outside of the comic books), Mark Hamill has done the best one. And even that was a cartoon, so it really doesn't count. And as I said in an earlier post, it sounds like they're going the Jack Nicholson version of The Joker.

Which is sad, really. The Joker is supposed to be a master criminal who ends up going completely insane after falling into a vat full of chemicals/acid. His mind snaps. He plays jokes and pranks that kill. He doesn't do it because it's a "theme" that happened to fall into his lap, he does it because he just wants to. He wants to bring a smile to everyone's lips, usually in ways that kill them.

Personally, I like how the Joker went insane in a recent comic that retold his origin. After he came out of the vat of chemicals, he saw a rabbit in the moon. And completely lost it laughing. He saw that nobody else could see the rabbit, or even smiled, so he decided that he needed to make them smile. And die. And he finds that absolutely hilarious.

If you can't tell, The Joker is my favorite villain of all time. :)
