the week that would not end
and to think that I've been at work for only 4 days this week, and it seems like the longest week ever. I guess that happens when there isn't a whole lot to do and you resort to doing crossword puzzles on the internet while hoping that your boss doesn't see you and cursing your computer for not switching between open windows fast enough (stupid old computer).
at least I have a project now...kind of. my boss's boss wants me to do some research for HIS boss on information commons, specifically related to science fields, but basically anything they can find because eventually our library is going to become one. he didn't say that...but when they shove you in the basement of one library indefinitely, and tell you the only time you're getting out is when they either build a consolidated science library, or when they don't have money in the budget for the science library and so they shove you in the corner of one of the floors of the main research library...that means they want you to put all your bound journals in storage, reduce your book holdings, and set up a few computer terminals and call it an information commons instead.
i think i'll put off starting to do the research until after lunch. because if i don't, i won't have much of anything to do when i get back, and at this point, all i'm trying to do is look busy until it's the weekend because i have big plans for tonight that involve going out with my friend jon and eating wings. and really...the wings can't get here fast enough.
