So close to freedom...

Only two more weeks of school! I am so happy, school has been really boring as of late. Next week is going to be awful though, basically just exam preparation.

A mixture of laziness and a lack of time prevented me from updating my journal. Right now I'm practicing a lot of piano in order to be ready for my piano recital next Wednesday (I had a piano examination the Monday before last and I'm glad to say that I got a very good grade in that).

Good Luck To Everyone Taking the SATs! May you all achieve or even surpass your desired score.

I just finished reading a very good book: Abduction by Robin Cook. It's kinda sci-fi, but even if you don't like that genre I would recommend it. In fact, I would recommend Robin Cook books in general, they are interesting, well-written, and the plots generally relate to medicine and/or science in some way (which some people may not like).

Anyway, the book got me thinking about something. Heaven is generally thought of as a utopia, a place devoid of danger and work. However, humans have a very innate sense of competition. They feel the need to beat people, aka "keep up with the Joneses." Humans also thrive in and thus crave dangerous, unpredictable situations. So if heaven is perfect, won't humans eventually get bored? People are always striving for something better, what would happen when they reach the best and can no longer continue? If you have any thoughts about that, feel free to post a comment.
