Just another update.

I've been feeling pretty down these last few days. All for no reason/dumb reasons. I hate it when that happens. Also, if I spend too long upset I get ill (which makes no medical sense I think, so maybe it's that I get upset as an illness is starting, and the illness is therefore the cause?) Either way, I'm not feeling well. Really bad headache ( Read more... )

I've missed you too! I'm sorry I've been SO bad at the posting thing lately. I took a spur of the moment trip to Philadelphia one long weekend (7 hour drive, 14 hours round trip - gah!) to see friends from grad school and have been alternately sick or swamped. Also, if I want to get my thesis in for the next deadline I'm going to have to really buckle down and work non-stop on it for the next few weeks. I may be scarce again but hopefully not too bad.

I add my agreement to the others who say your mind can make you sick. I hate to fly and sometimes get so nervous about it I become ill before I even step on the plane. Hope you feel better very soon. {{happy, sickness-repelling vibes}}

I was so proud to be on the list of people you wanted to meet! With Joss Whedon! And James Hetfield! And Ann Coulter?!? Say it ain't so Daps. You want to meet her to argue with her right? Please? /small, pleading voice *g*

Ok, I've composed a monster post to respond to all the comments I've neglected for well over a month. I'm afraid to post it here because, frankly, I don't think my ego could take the pounding that LiveJournal would surely give me. I'll try e-mail, but let me know if it doesn't work and I'll be strong and take LJ head-on. :)

My goodness, that email was big! *g* How do you want me to respond to it? Because, well, it may take me a little while. Or shall I hold off replying to it until you're less busy, because I could do that. Really loved reading it, by the way, and now I know your name and everything. :p There's nothing to be ashamed of in having posts torn apart by livejournal! :)

Your pleading voice has done it. *g* Arguing with Ann Coulter is indeed the reason I want to meet her. I was really quite shocked when I first came across her that a) people actually held these views I've since realised that a heck of a lot of people hold them, to my complete and utter fear! and b) she could be so hypocritical without seemingly realising it. Such as, to paraphrase, "all those no-good traitor liberals can do in debate is hurl insults". Cracks me up, I swear. *g*

I wanna meet you a lot more than I wanna meet her though. :)

Wow, on the trip to Philadelphia! Did you have a good time there? And this re-enforces that thing about American traveling distances being on a different scale to British ones - 7 hours! Eeek!

Best of luck with the thesis in the next few weeks! *thesis-completing-vibes* and *hugs*

Sorry about the size. *sheepish* It is just hard because I want to respond to everything and combined with my propensity to ramble, well, you know, things can get ugly. :) Feel free to respond to it however is easiest. Also, feel free to NOT respond to it. Honestly. I do always love hearing from you but you definitely shouldn't feel like you have to answer it. Plus I am going to be very busy coming up so I wouldn't have time to respond to your response most likely and wow am I doing a bad job of answering your simple question. :) Basically I'd love to hear from you but don't feel obliged.

Thank goodness! I assumed that that could be the only reason you'd want to meet Ann Coulter but just had to be sure. :) LOL at your quote. Sounds just like her. *g* Sorry to have doubted you.

I want to meet you more than I want to meet her too but I can't help but think this is a very weak compliment we are paying each other. :P

I did have a good time in Philly. I hadn't seen the people from my program since May and I missed them. There were only 17 people in my class and since we had to work together so much (and we spent a month living together in Rome) we got very close. Friday night we had a progressive or "round the world" party where we moved the party from apartment to apartment throughout the night. Saturday we had dinner and then went out to a bar. I also got to walk around the city and do some shopping and visit some of the places I've been missing. The seven hour drive sucked though. :)

I think you are right about the different traveling scale. It also varies within the US too. I live in the relatively congested northeast where we don't have to go very far to go to different places so I tent to think of 7 hours as a long trip. My friend from Arizona is used to traveling very long distances just to cross Phoenix so 7 hours wouldn't have been a big deal to her. It's all relative I guess. :)

Thanks very much for the t-vibes. I really appreciate them. *hugs* to you too. Hope you're doing ok. Let me know if you need anything.

Hee, don't be sheepish about the long post. I know you will anyway, but still. *g* I always love reading anything from you, and in the cases of long posts combined with my less-than-fast reading ability *g*... well, it's great. :) (Lost the ability to construct a sentence there!)

Oh, I totally want to respond to it. :) I just know you're busy lately and won't be able to respond back, and I just didn't want you to feel guilty. But since you say you do want a response, well, I'll respond soon. Just remember, you asked for it. :p

Wow, around the world parties sound like a great time. Sorry you had to put up with a 7 hour drive to get to it - but, seeing friends is always great, especially if you don't get to spend as much time with them as you'd like. Glad you had a good time!
