Come to the UK. *g*

You're right. Having them race at the end would have been following a long and worn out formula. It's just having followed their stories in one single movie, it felt a bit strange to then leave their stories without bringing them together somehow. Thematically, it worked (though I must confess to liking Abrahams a lot more than Liddell), but I think the way the movie progressed made me think that they would have their stories tied together, without following up on it.

Actually one of the things I liked most about it was that it wasn't clearly 'about' anything. All the themes in it, racial prejudice, religion, doing what you think is right instead of what everyone else wants you to do, were all there for us to get something from, without having to. What I might be *g* trying to say is that I never once felt like I *must* agree with Liddell's stance, or with Abraham's feeling of being an outcast, etc., which was refreshing.

Ok, running along a beach with that music playing has to be one of the coolest things ever. :)

So far you're movies are 2 for 2 with me. Shakespeare In Love is on its way to me now. :)
