The Sure Thing is a fab film and John C does indeed rock and, in fact, boulder!! I hope you have seen Crosse Point Blank, because it's a gem! Pushing Tin has a lot going for it too.

You hate cartoon based shows? Are you insane?? Thank God you seem to have come round! I love animation or all kinds (except Japanese stuff...ghastly!) Dangermouse and Count Duckula were firm faves and had some wonderful writing and characterizations even though they were aimed at kids! The Family Guy good and I'm glad you enjoyed it but my fave in recent years was something called Stressed Eric. it was on BBC2 at about 6.30 for a while and it just appealed to me. As did Bob & Margret which is usually burried at about 2am on C4! I like THe Simpson and King Of The Hill too, although the american approach is different to ours i still find much that is amusing. Can I ask why you dislike the Simpsons? Just nosy *g*! South Park is one of those things that i thought was fantastic the first few times i saw it ( Stavin' Marvin is a classic) but i was bored by the movie. It kinda feels to me that it (the show) had a few good gags and characters and if it had stuck to one series and the stopped i would still be a big fan but the format and premis got old and tired really fast for me. Mind you...I'm old and tired myself *g*

Love train travel too! Walkman on and gazing out teh window and teh world rushes by. Wonderful!

I haven't seen Grosse Point Blank actually. I tried watching it a couple of years ago just because there was a BtVS actor in it, but was nackered and fell asleep. I'll give it another go some time. :)

A lot of my friends liked Stressed Eric too. That was another of many that I didn't give a chance. *g* I've only seen a couple of South Park episodes, but I thought the film was outstanding. Maybe because it was new and fresh to me, where as it was retreading ground to viewers who had already watched the show.

I don't like The Simpsons because... this is gonna seem a bit obvious *g*... I don't think it's funny. I've seen about 10 episodes now, and laughed maybe 3 times over the total. Also, the voices *really* get on my nerves.

LOL, I'm not a big anime fan either. :) I did get into Dragonball Z once, while still mocking it, and Pokemon has spanned off into so many great things. *g* Ok, I'll stop now before I admit to being a Pokemon fan. *g*

The Sure Thing is a great movie and I've got to agree with Lady Eleanor about Grosse Pointe Blank, one of my all-time top ten movies (well, if not exactly not top ten, at least near it.) :0) Saw a previous entry you made about Shakespeare in Love. I thought it was fantastic, so many levels to it; the romance between Shakespeare and the Gwynneth Paltrow character, how it interacted with his writing of the play and the actual performance of the play. It aroused so many emotions in me; sadness, love, joy. A truly amazing film...
