So! Series five of Doctor Who, plus Doctor Who 2010 Christmas Special!

After half-sleeping through The Eleventh Hour earlier today, I decided to put off continuing the series until after my friends and I tuned into the Christmas Special. You know, the first episode after the series we'd missed.

*cackles* I agree with you a lot about the ham-handedness in Beast Below. It was a little over-egged. But I like your points about Amy and Eleven and look forward to hearing further comments on them ^^

Thinking about it, I don't know whether the planet was Earth or not. I think maybe it was another planet colonised by Earth settlers? Maybe?

Possibly, but at the same time Scrooge was looking at pictures labeled "California" with the HOLLYWOOD sign in the back, and the characters mentioned "Sinatra" (which I would assume implied Frank Sinatra)...and I vaguely remember hearing Rory answering the phone and telling the Doctor that it was "somebody named Marylin...In fact, I think it's the Marylin," possibly implying Marylin Monroe.

Unless the Doctor just took them from whatever planet they were currently on to Earth every Christmas, which would undermine this entire thing. ^^

Oh! Yes, I definitely presumed it was the Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe, but that the Doctor took them all over space and time and that one year, they happened to go to 1950s America. Oh, now I'm confused all over again...
