I came upon the best revelation last night:
James Bond is a Time Lord.
You heard me right: James Bond is a Time Lord.
How, do you ask? Well, the really obvious one is the fact that Bond goes through a ton of different actors - but everybody he works with seems to take this all in stride, suggesting that Q and the rest are familiar with the fact that he can regenerate. Aside from that, Bond is both really tech savvy - even with Q's crackpot inventions - and is very thoroughly educated with human culture and history, almost moreso than your average special agent. Oh, and he's British, too. :D
