so Thanksgiving was excellent as usual. I brought my Un-Turkey to my parents' house and they provided everything else. My mom blew up the mashed potatoes though. She took all the vegetables out of the oven and put them on the stove to sit. There was also a saucepan with gravy in it on the stove and I think she meant to turn on the burner to warm that up, but she turned on the wrong burner, which started heating up the mashed potatoes. After a few minutes she was like "umm, I smell something funny" and then when she noticed, she took the potatoes off the stove and put the dish on the counter. The second it hit the counter the glass dish shattered and we had to salvage as much of the mash as we could. Conversation was as usual - my brother's real estate dealings, my sister's students, and then of course plenty of family gossip. We went to my aunt's for dessert, and by the end of the day I was disgustingly full, which is the way I like it. I don't think I'm eating breakfast this morning. I'm going to wait for lunch time to come. I'm really just not hungry.

on TV yesterday they did a bit on Jones Soda because they have a full Thanksgiving line of sodas - mashed potato soda, turkey and gravy soda, fruitcake soda, etc, etc. Every time they showed somebody on the street taste testing it the person was just like "ohhhhh god damn that's NASTY." and there was one guy who kept swearing. I assumed they wouldn't have used that footage, but I guess the news stations have to be on the cutting edge these days.

also, last night i had a dream that I was in a department store and they had these miniature cans of Moxie for sale as a toy for kids. like the stuff they put in those toy kitchens.
