Disregard, I suck cocks.

Let me preface this by saying that this was a BAD DAY so far, I know that, and tomorrow's going to be totally different.

That said.

WTF BODY?  For the last two weeks, I've been strictly dieting, and going to the gym EVERY DAY, sometimes TWICE a day.  And today I found I've gained two pounds, and a whole weird bunch of inches around my body.  I want ( Read more... )

I just posted about this on my livejournal! I've been doing this exercise program for a month and have gained weight. What the heck. It is really frustrating. There could be a couple different reasons. Here's a website I found when I was googling why: http://exercise.about.com/od/weightloss/f/gainingweight.htm... )

You are absolutely one hundred percent not annoying me. That's exactly the kind of stuff I do need to hear, and from someone like you who's done it before. THANK you.

I'm checking out those websites--thanks!

Phew! I'm glad I'm not bugging you :)

Well, I'm here anytime you have questions or concerns. I'm glad to share my experience! Also, I'm glad to share my workout DVDs if you ever get tired of the elliptical. I can make you copies and mail them!

Honestly? I would LOVE to get your DVDs, if you don't mind. Just send them to me, at Wells College, Aurora NY, 13026

I will work on that this weekend! I'll make you my favorites, and then do you have any specific requests? I have yoga, pilates, kickboxing, different cardio ones, strength training, you name it. I actually have an excel document at home with all of the names if you want to 'browse' that!
All the DVDs can be done in a tiny space, which is nice! Some of them require equipment, but usually they show modifications if you don't have anything.

What I have in my exercise equpiment aresnal is: a pair of 5 lb & 10 lb dumbells (I would definitely recommend getting 5 lbs, did you know strength training actually burns more calories than running?? this is nice because I hate running), some pilates bands (that I've only used once or twice), a resistance band (which I use sometimes--it's nice because you can use it like dumbells in most exercises and it's pretty light and portable, and cheap), and a step (this is fun if you get into the step workouts on the DVDs, though you can do all the step workouts with a step!)

That is amazing! Just your favorites to start with, and I REALLY love yoga. Can I send you some money for all of this? Ooh, or better yet, if you want you can drop it off at my dad's if you're in Lakeport, and he'll be more than happy to send them to me/reimburse you.

You are basically my hero forever.

oh my goodness, you are so silly. DVD-Rs are cheap and I already have a bunch! And how much does it cost to mail some DVDs, like $1? Don't even worry! :) I have a whole two seasons of a yoga show called Namaste Yoga, I really like it. The ladies on it are like, totally skinny and in ridiculously good shape so that part is kind of annoying, but the actual yoga is so nice. They are 25 minute episodes so you could throw it on after a workout at the gym so you'll be stretchy and flexible. Oh, I forgot: I also recommend getting a good yoga mat; Adam just got one at Target and it was only $20. :)

Fantastic, you're my hero even harder! The yoga DVDs sound wonderful, and I picked up a nice yoga mat last week for the same price at Wegmans. Btw, if you ever make it out to this coast, you must go to Wegmans. Best. Supermarket. Ever.

You know, living in Lakeport I thought every town had a Safeway. I went down to Southern California and they have Vaugh's (vons?) and Ralphs (which reminds me of puking, so we'd go RALPH in a barfy type voice every time we saw one), and Adam's favorite from Ohio, Kroeger's. He believes very strongly that Kroeger's chocolate milk is the best chocolate milk that exists. I finally got to try some last year when we visited Ohio, and I have to say I agree.

Wegmans sounds neat because what kind of crazy grocery store sells yoga mats?

Oh, and I think they have all of that equipment at the gym here on campus, so I'm definitely good there!
