Warning: a fiber-heavy post!

Jul 15, 2008 17:30

So, I've been a bit fiber-crazy lately. The weird thing is, even though my mind has been chanting, "YARN, YARN, YARN," I haven't actually done...basically any knitting lately.

It's this thing's fault.

It's that thing's fault that this happened:

And this:

And especially this!

In case you're wondering, that's my spinning wheel (which, excitingly and obviously, works), some pink roving I bought at Web*sters in Ashland (I have two hanks), My two-ply in the Louet colorway "Violets," and some absolutely soft and yummy Blue-faced Leicester in a three-ply.

I'm now working on some more from Louet--not violets this time, but "Burning Bush," which looks like this unspun:

Yes, it's blurry. Shut up, I took it a long time ago on my camera phone. Lately I've been using Sonora's camera, which is SO MUCH NICER.

I just had to post. It's too pretty, it really is. The Violets is lovely, but a TINY bit scratchy, but the BFL is just...it's like butter. I want to sink into it and make it into sweaters and socks and scarves and mittens and hats and things that can be worn next to the skin all the time because it's SO SOFT.

I'll stop. I really will.

After all, there's knitting to be done.

....maybe I'll stop after I spin the rest of the Burning Bush.

PS: SOMEONE PLEASE STOP ME FROM TRYING TO LEARN NAALEBINDING!! *cries at low self-control*

spinning, fiber, knitting
