I don’t know about you but I love discount cards, reward systems, frequent shopper points, gift with purchases and all that. I have a separate wallet that holds all my cards. I take pleasure in redeeming points I’ve earned and receiving gifts and freebies for being a loyal customer. My husband has no patience doing these things but I always bug him to use my cards when making purchases. I love it when I ring up enough points to get me P1,000 worth of free groceries. It was a sad day when my Rustan’s FSP card got lost and they didn’t allow me to renew it (apparently they don’t give new cards now). That’s a different story.
So when Carmina Sanchez invited me to the launch of Enjoy “The Best of the Philippines” - a “privilege club vnfor young, affluent and upwardly mobile consumers to top restaurants, bars, boutiques and providers of lifestyle products and services” - I made sure I’d be there. The launch was held at Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street last week.
The Enjoy card
The Enjoy package, P1495 valid for one year.
The Enjoy card comes in a really savvy red tin box containing a booklet of P150,000 worth of freebies on top of the regular discounts (10% to 50% off) in over 150 of the country’s restaurants, bars, clubs, gyms, spas and travel destinations. I plan to keep the tin box in the car, so I can always refer to it. It also has a pocket map where you can keep the extra coupons that you plan to use. And all the establishments participating will have an “Enjoy” sticker visible at their premises. That way you won’t forget to whip out your card when you pay.
Enjoy is sold at Fully Booked. Incidentally, if you spend over P5,000 at Fully Booked your Enjoy card entitles you to P1,000 free books with the special coupon. For regular purchases, you get 10% off cash or 5% off credit card.
Shopping privileges from fashion designer Puey Quinones, jeweller Janina Dizon Hoschka, Human and Havaianas etc.
A few of my favourite restaurants are Enjoy participants...
Chelsea Restaurant. I can get one free main course if I buy 2 main courses using the special coupon. Without the coupon, the card gets me a dessert or cocktail for every minimum spending of P750. Not a bad deal at all.
Chef Laudico's Bistro Filipino. The card alone gets me a free box of Belgian chocolates for every P2,000 purchase. The extra coupon gives mea complimentary bottle of wine if I spend P2,500 or more.
Cav at Bonifacio High Street. I get a free glass of dessert wine for a minimum of P1,000 purchase by showing the card. But with the coupon, I can can get 25% off during lunch. Yay!
Machiavelli Chocolates. I ate all of them by myself. Didn't share with Patrick. Haha.
Machiavelli Chocolates are perhaps some of the best chocolates I've tasted so far. Writing this is making me salivate all over again. The flavours are a fusion of fine European taste and local delicacies like: Purple Yam Yum (or ube), Mung Bean Bon Bon (or monggo), Guava Asia, Yema de Manila. But they all have the consistency of the finest Belgian chocolates. I'm not exaggerating. I know chocolates. I'll take another box please... any time now. Haha. With the Enjoy card, if you spend 1,500 at Machiavelli Chocolates you get a free sampler box of 5.
Ingrid and me (32 weeks pregnant) at the launch before I ate all those chocolates. I must have put on 5 pounds since.
