Last June 11, 2009 I attended the Greenbelt 5 open house party on the second floor where all the Filipino designer shops are located. Everyone has blogged and reported on the event. I have a hundred and one excuses for blogging so late about this event. But you've heard them all before -- slow internet, busy with shoots, real work, etc.
So here are the people and things that caught my eye from Designs Filipino at Greenbelt 5. Better late than never.
The Religioso sisters: Choc Dayrit and Yvette Ilagan

Ruby Gan of Myth, wearing a skeletal "terno" top by Joey Samson
The baghag and
the fashpack
Bags (worn as hats) by Aranaz
Mia Florencio of Atelier Avatar
I want this necklace by Butch Carungay of Atelier Avatar
Another crazy beautiful piece by Butch Carungay of Atelier Avatar. I'm lovin' those black beetles!
Victoria Marin had these coral-looking accessories made of some technical sounding plastic (same ones used for eyewear).
After doing the rounds in the different boutiques, Ingrid and I went back to our homebase, Religioso. There we noticed a huge prop - what looked like a giant Rolleiflex camera. It turned out to be a portable photo booth. These things are a huge hit at parties and weddings. I like this because it has a vintage camera theme.

My partner in crime Ingrid and I took advantage of the "freebie" and did some goofball poses. That's me looking like the Hindenburg blimp (almost 8 months).
Look at her earrings! They're so beautiful. One of a kind. Made by Joel Arthur Rosenthal. She's the only person I know who's met and bought from JAR himself (other than IRM). Ganda!
