So Filbars never delivered my June Vogue with SJP on the cover. And only after I tried contacting them did they try contacting me to explain what happened. And they were "happy" to announce that they would extend my subscription for one month. Geez. Am I supposed to feel good about that? What about the money I paid them in advance that they already spent/or earned interest from? I'm thinking I want a refund and cancellation instead. But that's a different story.
This post is about rocks. I'm obsessed.
From that controversial missing Vogue (that I eventually bought 3 weeks late), I saw this: whole spread with Daria Werbowy and Pierce Brosnan in very Hitchcock like setting. What stood out was the necklace worn by Daria.
Balenciaga strass necklace.
I'm obsessed with it. PJ in New York is going to get me more info on it. I'm hoping it's not set in gold. But it's probably a couple of thousand dollars anyway. Drool.
I thought that after touching the almost flawless Roberto Coin Cento Diamonds, I wouldn't want anything else. These babies aren't the biggest but they sure are bright and white. And they have 100 facets. Whoa bling! Each stone is GIA certified and inscribed with the designer's logo and GIA certification number.

However crystals of all forms are speaking loud and clear to me. They are a lot more affordable than diamonds. Though comparing crystals to diamonds is a really stupid thing to do. So I won't even go there.
These are rock crystals from HStern (available at Adora).
HStern Cobblestone collection, cuff with rock crystals on 18 carat noble gold.
HStern Cobblestone collection, earrings with rock crystals on 18 carat noble gold.
Don't go thinking these rock crystals are costume jewelry since they are "just" crystals. These babies have a hefty price tag. They are set in noble gold - an HStern technology that makes the gold look yellower beside yellow gold and whiter when put beside silver or platinum - a versatile metal base in terms of colour.
This is not a feeble attempt at comparing crystals to diamonds. They are so different. (So save the GIA lecture for something more relevant, when I really talk about diamonds).
I'm just liking the look and feel of crystals right now. For some reason. Swoon.....
