Hope you enjoyed watching UZ last night. I was seriously in awe of the house. Mike Pena, the architect, never fails to impress me. He does modern-tropical-green architecture really well. I was very conscious about saying "wow" too much, as I often do when I am really impressed by a home. Last week someone said I was "O.A." with my wows. And on the same day someone said I sounded and looked bored with my wows. So to end all debates about the "wows," I'm going to tone down the reactions from now on. I just want to say that the show is completely unscripted. And when I visit a home, oftentimes it is my first time to see everything. So my reactions are genuine. Everyone knows I'm not an
actress. Needless to say, I was very impressed with the architecture of this house. Every detail has a function. The roof line slopes towards the middle where a cistern collects rainwater to be used for the lawn and the toilets. There are huge overhanging eaves that protect the glass windows from direct sun. Etc etc.
I hope you got to watch the show. We do not have replays. (And whatever's posted online isn't authorized by us.)
Cheesy pose. But couldn't resist. Had to show the size of the front door by Agi Pagkatipunan. This was also the day I didn't have my makeup kit in the car. Tsk tsk. I'm wearing K&Company's holiday collection btw.
Facade. Interviewing the architect, Mike Pena.
Inside, louvers around the cleresory windows to allow hot air to escape.
At the back, double wall to protect from direct sun
