I always knew he had an interest in design. It seems the husband is more appreciative of design and handmade craft now more than ever. He always tells me about the neatest things he finds in Uncrate - most of them vintagy and handmade. It could also be the ease of online shopping. I don't know. But one day I looked at his table and found the neatest things.
Last year he accepted his fate, that he had to wear reading glasses. He went through a number of off the rack reading glasses. Until he finally found this one. It's so cool-nerdy on him, in a good way. The frames have a story... it's long. Just google Matt Singer for Selima

Ever since I met him thirteen years ago, he had always been wearing vintage watches. Most of them don't really work. Or they do, but he doesn't care to wind them up. A couple of years ago he started wearing his old watches using grosgrain ribbon straps. I thought he was crazy. Until I found similar straps in JCrew last spring. It's very cute.

And here's something that screams testosterone! How about an authentic handmade leather satchel? Not just leather. It's Saddleback Leather! He told me about this bag for many months. The idea that it grows old with you and goes anywhere you go - like Indiana Jones' man bag or murse, haha. I have to admit the website of Saddleback Leather is very convincing. Everything is handcrafted. And their choice of materials is superb, from the leather to the brass to the thread used for stitching.
