CONTEST: Reebok Easy Tone

Mar 03, 2010 22:12

.

Unbelieveable. It’s been over five months and I’m still doing Stott Pilates twice a week. I don’t think I’ve ever been committed to any exercise or sport this long. Whenever I miss a session, I feel terrible. My body looks for it. I can’t afford more than twice a week sessions - too expensive and I’ll feel too guilty for leaving my kids at home. So far, it’s working out well. My instructor has promoted me to intermediate level. We’re doing more intense stuff. I haven’t shrunken yet, because I do not do cardio yet. I’m afraid that too much sweat would water down my milk and change the consistency and taste. Stella still needs my milk. She turned 7 months yesterday… and ooh, her two bottom teeth came out. Yikes.

I don’t know if Stott Pilates has actually changed my body shape, but I do feel stronger and more toned. And Patrick noticed an improvement in my posture. He saw a photo of me and asked, “Why are you standing so tall?” I guess all that pulling up and strengthening my core is working. Or so I tell myself. Anytime I remember to pull up, suck my gut, squeeze my glutes - I do it. So how pleased was I to discover another shoe that promises to help tone my legs and butt even when I’m not doing Pilates? Last week Reebok sent me a pair of Easy Tone shoes to try.

Easy Tone ReeInspire, P5,495

They look like running shoes, but apparently they’re not for running. You know how serious running is now. Runners can get very technical about their shoes. That’s fine by me because I have no plans of running anyway. Walking with a little hop and skip is my thing. So these black Easy Tone Reinspire (P5,495) will do the trick.

These shoes are built differently. They don’t step flatly on the ground. They have these little round balance pods underneath the heel and forefoot. So with every step, you have to sort of find your balance. “The balance pods are designed to create natural instability. By forcing muscles toadapt, the shoe encourages toning of key leg muscles.”

I used my Easy Tone shoes last week when I took Lily on her school field trip. One full day at the Manila Zoo, MuseoPambata and Air Force Museum. It took a while for me to find my balance. I felt like the shoe was making me work hard. But it’s not like I felt uncomfortable either. It was light, even though the shoe looks like a serious running shoe. By the end of the day, I was exhausted from the heat. But my feet never hurt. I did feel that my thighs, calves and glutes worked hard in a good way. That’s the effect we’re going for.

Here’s what I found out:

Through extensive testing, Reebok found that by walking in this shoe, there is 11% more activity for key muscles in the calves and hamstrings. There is also 28% more muscle activity for the gluteus maximus. EasyTone activates key leg muscles more than a traditional walking shoe.*

Easy Tone Reeinspire also comes in this gold tone, P5,495

Easy Tone Go Outside. This is cute but I didn't see it at the store, P5,495
