Fancy dinner party

.

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to a grown up and sophisticated dinner party. It was the birthday of Tito Villanueva, the interior designer whose work we featured in UZ just recently.

The fantastic table at Tito's condo. He had an extension table made from plywood and 2x2 beams, attached to the round dining table. Ah, one of the good things about living in the Philippines. You can have anything made. Covered in white table cloth, the plywood table looks part of the regular furniture. And because Tito has a gazillion Philippe Starck ghost chairs, the place didn't look too cramped.

I like taking pictures of table settings, flowers and wine bottles. Just so I don't forget.

And so did the other guests.

This is a good way of holding up a small bunch of roses.

It was a good mix of people. In my immediate area - basketball coach Frankie Lim and wife Olen Lim, an image consultant and TV personality and the new GM of the Mandarin Oriental Manila, Mark Bradford.

We ate salmon.

Tito gave away these cute little chickens with "lucky" coins inside them.

My outfit was totally accidental. I didn't want to wear one of my usual black shift dresses. I wanted the floral-printed cardigan and the rest followed. I ended up piling on the prints. As my 3-year old said before I left the house, "Mama you look pretty. But... different."

When I grow up I also want a private chef to cook in my house...
