fridays
i'm pretty excited for this weekend. i don't have anything planned, but my dad will be bringing my refurbished car to me tomorrow along with a driving lesson (ha ha). we will also have lunch or something, i enjoy my father's company. i hardly see him anymore and he worked so hard on my car...again. he's such a sweet man, i heard all this crap-talking he did behind my back about how he wasn't going to get me a car, and then he was only going to fix everything under the hood, and then he was just going to throw it back together and make me drive some mangled thing...of course my mom rolled her eyes the entire time and of course he calls me the other day asking if i wanted to paint it a different color, and how he was planning on detailing it before he gives it back. he kept saying how the next time he saw me i was going to get a stern talking-to but every time he saw me he was all glaze eyed and happy to see me. i think he loves me.
with that, i got a fairly large bonus this month from work. so i finally just buckled down and bought an entire new wardrobe for work since i wasn't expecting it. with the other half of my bonus, i invested in an ING account. which is something i have wanted to do for some time now. it's a FDIC regulated banking and mutual funds company, but instead of investing in branches across the globe they are completely based online and over the phone. since they don't have the overhead of branch expenses, their interest rate is almost 5%!!! i'm going to add the rest of my savings to it sometime this week and probably close my old savings account. you can link your checking account to it, so the money is always available to you. i set it up to automatically take a certain amount out every month and into my savings. my europe fund. if anyone is interested in getting one, please let me know!! if i refer you and you open one we both could get up to $250 each... or something like that...
