Clover Point - The Rice family makes me like Spring :)
Hi everyone!
I'm really, really happy about this entry! You'll see why in a few... But first, let's remember what happened with the Rices last rotation.
Okay, so Walter just kept working at becoming a Business Tycoon, but got a bad chance card and still hasn't reached his goal, even though he's now a dashing elder. Carla also aged and Oliver got married to Mona Monif, who quickly got pregnant and gave birth to Gavin Rice. The grocery store reach the top level and Hugo became an adult. He fell in love with Aren Kramer and moved out to live on his own at the end of the chapter. We'll get to see how his life is turning out later this rotation.
Here's the lovely family:
In the back: Oliver holding his son Gavin, and Mona. Sitting: Carla in her PJs and good looking Walter.
Oli feeds his stinky son. He probably changed his diaper right after that... I think.
Oh, look! Carla inherited from Elisabeth! I would've tought Walt would be the one getting some money, but I guess she was better friends with Carla...
Carla tends the garden to make sure the store is well stocked.
And Walter plays chess, again. He needs his logic points to reach his LTW... You'll see more of this, sorry.
Mona wanted to study parenting, so I let her. She seemed shocked about something...
"What?!? Gavin won't learn to walk and talk on his own?!? I'll have to teach him!?! Darn... I can feel this is going to be time consuming!"
Carla wants to top enthousiasm in Nature, so she started a blog about her garden.
Now that she knows everything about being a good parent, Mona's always doting on Gavin. Not that she didn't care about him before, mind you.
She also found the time to start a new painting.
Oliver left for work. For those who don't remember (and I don't blame you, I can hardly remember everything in this BaCC myself), Oli has a job in the Slacker career, in order to reach in LTW.
Carla missed her last born, so she decided to call him.
"How is it going, Hugo? Oh? Well, you know you can always come over... Yes... Why don't you have dinner with us? It will save you the trouble."
Hugo was happy to come and see his family.
After dinner, he went upstairs to see his father.
"Hey Dad. Mom said I'd find you here. She says you never leave the game anymore."
"Sit, sit and play with me, Hugo."
"Okay..."
"I'm just shy of getting a HUGE promotion at work. This game helps me keep my sharp wit."
After Hugo left, Walter went stargazing. All in all, that day, he earned two logic points. We'll get there, Walt!
As for Mona, she wanted to keep fit. She's so good at jumping rope!!!
Oliver came back with a promotion to Home Video Editor.
Carla and Mona opened Fancy Pants to earn enough money to pay the taxes. This store is now really profitable and easy to run. I love it. It might even be my favorite one...
Back home, Mona ate with Walt.
"This food is so delicious, Mr. Rice."
"Mona, you really have to start calling me Walter. Or Dad, if you prefer. But, yes, the food is delicious."
"It's so sparkly!"
"That's because our garden is the best in town. But, you should be careful, you don't want to end up like me..."
As she got up, Mona realized what her father-in-law meant.
"Oh no! I've gained weight! I'm not fit anymore."
Walter chuckled. "Welcome to the family, darling."
(It's true, they're all overweight... but who cares? Walt it still dashing!)
Carla finally got her gold gardening badge, which means she can talk to plants. We'll get even more delicious veggies :)
But even that didn't cheer her up.
"Sweetheart, I can help but notice that you've been feeling blue. What's wrong?"
"Oh, I don't know, Walt. I just feel tired all the time and I can't help but feel unsatisfied."
"But, Carla, you have two beautiful sons, a wonderful grandson..."
"I know, I know..."
"Well, I'll take care of you, you'll see. I love you, Carla."
Oli came back that day with another promotion, to Freelance Photographer.
He was just in time for Gavin's birthday. Yes, already!
Here is the little boy. Gavin is a Scorpio (10/7/9/2/1) and he has his dad's somewhat glitchy eyes. Let's hope he'll grow into them, okay? He also has Mona's mouth and nose.
More time at the chess table for the patriarch, to get his last needed logic point.
And Gavin became besties with his dad as he got potty trained.
Oli got the hydroponic plant thingy and enjoyed using it. And you can clearly see here that he's got a good belly. Gosh, he looks pregnant! *sigh*
As Mona learned from her reading, Gavin needed help learning to walk, so she got him started.
"Come, baby! You can do it! Mommy will catch you."
Meanwhile, Carla went for a hike and came back with poison ivy... This was not a good week for her. Her bar was staying yellow...
So I she decided to do something about it! After all, they had plenty of fresh produce in stock. So Carla drank a strawberry-lemonade smoothie and instantly felt MUCH better.
He'd been off work since the beginning of the rotation, but now it was finally time for Walter to go get that final promotion.
It was also the first day of work for Mona, who has a job in the architecture career. It's the path to her LTW, too.
Gavin played with his blocks and we discovered that science is his OTH. I'll get him to max his logic skills before he becomes an adult so he can get a job in science if he ever wants to.
Oli's heading into work, too, which means Carla's the one staying home to watch over the baby.
Since she felt better, Carla made some smart milk for Gavin and proceeded to teach him how to talk.
Success! :)
"Grandmama is so proud of you, baby! I love you!"
All together now: Awwwww!
She also got him closer to be potty trained.
And who came back a Business Tycoon??? Yes! It's Walter! Whooooooooo! :) *giddy dance*
Alright, so not only did Walt reach his LTW, he also gives Clover Point its first Business District, increasing the SM to 9 and giving the population a boost. That also opens a position in education. I'm happy, happy, happy!
Can you believe it took this long? Well, anyhow, Walt's new LTW is to have 6 pets top a career. Haha! So not happening!
Mona also came back with a promotion, to Architect's Apprentice...
... and so did Oli, to Freelance Web Designer.
Walter took over taking care of Gavin.
While Mona and Oliver spent some quality time.
"Here, let me, honey. You've had a long day."
"Oh, that feels great, Mona! But you've had a hard day, too."
"Well, I have an idea how you can help with that..."
And they retreated to their bedroom... After all, they have a lot to celebrate! ;)
Walter was tired, but he still found the time to finish potty training his grandson.
Early the next morning, before the sun was up, OIiver went to do his yoga outside. He figured it was time he started taking care of himself and lose the extra weight.
Later, he went to Rice for All with his mother and his wife. Mona got her bronze restocking badge and together, they got the store to reach top level, yay!
See? Oliver is serious about getting back in shape. He even bought a machine!
Walter tried to teach Gavin a nursery rhyme, but the little boy was not really interested.
And Carla went on another hike and this time, she got chased by bees. Argh.
Enough is enough, she tought. She remembered an old gypsy lady coming over, years ago, and telling her about a special lamp... It was time to take the lamp out of the attick and look at it more closely. Carla wiped the dust from it...
... and a genie came out!
"I am the Genie of the Lamp. I can grant you three wishes. What can I do for you?"
"Oh... Let me think... Well, I just want to feel better, really. I'm always depressed... I don't want to be anymore."
"Your wish is my command!"
And just like that, Carla was permaplat. I think she deserved it, judge me if you want ;)
Oliver came home with a promotion to Professional Party Guest, reaching his LTW. And I forgot to write down what his new one is... Ooops.
And apparently, becoming a Professional Party Guest makes you fit instantly.
Now that he's a Business Tycoon, Walt comes home in a chopper.
And lucky Mona gets to ride with him!
But really, Walt thinks this is a bit much. It's just so LOUD! lol
Oliver had more luck than his father teaching Gavin a nursery rhyme.
And Walt, true to his word, took good care of his wife.
"Feeling better?"
"God yes! I feel like all of my worries have gone away!"
"Wow, I didn't know my massages were that good!"
Hugo came over for dinner once again.
"You know, Hugo, I think you should open a clothing store."
"You do? But there's already one..."
"I know, but we own it, so we can never get new clothes for us. If you had one, we could!"
"That's not a bad idea... But I was also thinking of opening a salon or something. You know, so that people could get makeover and such."
The whole family tought that was a clever idea, too.
All that talk of opening businesses made Walter want to purchase a new one.
This, people, is Fitness Factory.
As you guessed, it sells fitness equipment ;)
Oliver had the day off, so he was the first to open it. His first customer was Tyrion Moning, but a few more people showed up and he made good sales. The new store reached rank 1 in no time. :)
Back home, as she was getting out of the shower, Mona got her first invisi-pop. Yes, she's expecting a second child!

She still felt great, so it was no bother to finish teaching Gavin to walk. The toddler now has all his skills, huzzah!
Carla spent some time chatting with the fruit trees...
While Oliver, as soon as he came back from the new store, harvested the juicy lemons.
Gavin followed his grandmama and his father outside. He too wanted to enjoy the warm Spring sun.
He's cute, even with his weird eyes ;)
Carla finally reached the max in Nature and can be in the Zone. Things are getting better for her.
She decided to prepare a turkey, to celebrate her new state of mind.
Mona finished her first painting while Walt got on the exercice bike.
"Are you hungry, Gavin?"
"Hungwy, hungwy!"
"Alright, let's get you some yummy food!"
"Gavin is such a precious little one, isn't he?"
"Yes, he is, honey."
"I'm so glad Mona is expecting again. Being a grandmother is amazing. I feel so blessed."
"And I'm happy to see how much better you are!"
Near the end of the season, Oli's friend Daphne came over for a chat.
"So, how are things at home, Daph?"
"Oh, well, you know..."
"Uh oh, I know that look..."
"No, it's okay really. The kids are wonderful. It's just that money's a bit tight and Frank... well, Frank is not really helping."
"I'm really sorry to hear that. Here, I have something for you."
"What is it?"
"It's something that will help you, I promise."
"But you don't need to..."
"I know, but you're my friend and I hate to see you like that."
"Thanks Oli. I really appreciate it. You're the best."
"You're welcome. That's what friends are for."
"I'd better get bak home, now."
